What went wrong with your FX today?

I take it your FOGs are always switched "on", the startup of the 4 ballast (2 headlights & 2 fogs) will be a huge draw. Once ballast warms up, you can turn "off", then "on" the fogs to ensure they are both lit.

OneEighty knows about hid, surprised it wasn't mentioned. My guess is they didn't even replace the bulbs unless you saw the process done.

Hmmm you are correct! They are always switched to on. I will definitely try this method of just leaving them off and turning them on after the headlights. thanks so much for the input!
 
When I drive I here a slight thump sound. When I reach 70mph my steering wheel vibrates a bit. Then when I break it vibrates more and I hear the thump louder. Someone help.

How are your tires? When is the last time they're spin balanced? Those are the things I would check first.
 
FX50S: Was having a kind of shudder during low speed tight turns, like parking. Took it in and they said I needed 4 new tires. Put the tires on and the problem got worse, so now they think my front differential is bad... Luckily I'm still under warranty.
 
@skagen6675. I would jack the front up and check if there any play on the hub, lower ball joint, stabilizer link, and tie rod end. How many miles you have on the ride?

I had a seized rear caliper- exhibited same symptoms- check for high heat in the rotors.
 
Car wouldn't start...again. Open doors, lights come on, turn ignition and it clicks then all the lights go out like a fuse blew. Check battery cable, lights come back on and everything seems normal. But the car just cranks and cranks like it's flooded. Check all fuses, wait 10 minutes and the car starts like normal. This is the 4th time the car has died like this, but the first time it cranked but wouldn't start. The other 3 times pushing the positive battery cable made everything fine. Seems to be happening more frequently now. 1st time was 6 months ago, last 3 have been within 2 weeks.

On top of the whole VB issue, I'm getting really annoyed with the FX. Never thought my BMW would be more reilable. Very frustrating when you can't depend on a car to always start.

Off to check positive battery cable again to see if I need to replace it.
 
i tried changing out my belts today and i didn;t know i had to loosen the pully bolts. needless to say, i need to change the bracket and bolt ($30) oh well. I got everything back on but the bracket is warped and the bolt head is stripped.
 
My gas door latch seized to open this morning and this blocks the access to the cubbie hole to manual release the latch from inside the trunk.

What a pain. Now I need to figure out where I should relocate the signal processor.
