What is that an '08?

ok, now to contribute some on topic too, a few weeks ago I brung my fx into the dealership & the service writer didn't belive it was an 03, he asked to see the registration even to confirm, but I should also ad that I changed all my exterior trim bumper & grille to the new design, & the vin comes up silver but it's black now:smile:

afterwards he told me he at first he thought it might be a tag job or something, but he never woulda guessed it was really an 03:laugh:

Yeah I saw the pics and you did a fantastic job, so that doesn't suprise me. One of our 3 service writers here is so dumb that he would probably say the same thing, and possibly accuse you of a vin swap. He's that dumb.

So, BTLFED, how much would it be to replace JUST those 4 pieces then? Excluding the part that requires the glue adhesive to the rear quarter window?

Well, the parts are $417.70, and the tech I asked said it was about 3 hours to replace them at $125 an hour which is $375. The only problem with all this is that the dealership I work at is in Georgia.:embarrassed:

Im goin on 2 months now......

WTF? Have you tried Tustin Infiniti? RideOrDie said he had no problems there and it didn't take long for them to order. I was initially going to take my FX there but since it's a little further, I basically called Mission Viejo up and told the service guy... "if you guys won't do this, I'll just go to Tustin cuz guys from the FX internet forums said they do it there with no hassle" They hate hearing that... Power of the internet FTW!

Mine probably wouldn't have been as long cuz they failed to call me when the parts came in and I also forgot about it til this morning when I read this thread again...

Since you're in the OC all the time anyway, you oughta just go there... ask for service guy-Brian

Ken how are you getting it as a warranty thing when yours is an '03???

I thought it was the 03' early 04' FXs that the TSB applied to, wasn't it?

I dunno... I just told him it was a TSB and I think just the fact that I used a term that most people don't know (TSB)... He just went with it... I don't know if he even looked it up or not.

Again IMO, whenever you say "I saw on the internet..." or "...according to the guys on the FX forums..." once they hear that... I think they just figure'd they're up against someone that probably knows MORE than they know.

Ah yeah, I tried that one here at VA Beach and they told me TSB's are just that. Technical Service Bulletins where it tells the dealership that it is a KNOWN deficiency, and is completely covered under warranty, but once someone goes outside of warranty it is now just a choice to get it done at the person's own cost. Which I think is ridiculous considering it is a known issue with a part on the car. They made these FX's with horrible trim pieces around the windows and it shows. They realize the problem, come up with a solution, and don't offer to fix it for everyone even though it's their bad

I didn't know about the TSB... heck I didn't even know it was supposed to be shiny/glossy until after my warranty was up.

oh, I get now... you thought my warranty's expired... well, it still good for another 10 days...

...and I posted a thread on this before but got no replies... should I extend it? or just "cross that bridge when/if the time comes"?

So does that mean like I said? It's a suggestion for replacement and post-warranty it is done at customer's cost in accordance with the TSB?

yeah, tsb's are only covered under warentee, but if you're a long time customer they can sometimes put a courtesy request in is what I was told... it may pay for the parts & you only pay labor or something like that...
