What do you dislike most about your FX?

trust me the GTR engine would be fine. you could mod it yourself without spending the premium on the nismo

2 things that are bothering me:

1. constant humming from the A/C! since day one, dealer can't identify it, claims they don't hear it lol.
2. rough uneven shifting of the 7-speed tranny

others (not as serious, actually hoping for some input to improve)

3. handling - my daily driver for the past year has been my GTR, so obviously I'm spoiled but how can I get the FX to handle more like a car (possibly lower it?)
4. ride quality - this is probably a tire issue. my summer dunlops seem to take a long time to warm up
I had that humming when the AC was on. Had the AC compressor changed the last month of my warranty. No more noise.

Thanks, I think I had the compressor changed once before, but I will tell them again the next time I am there.

There is a recall of the humming. It's a hose connected to the a/c that makes the noise. I had mine replaced and it fixed the issue completely. I heard it and the dealer never did. I have not heard it since at all. You can put your ear close and dead silence when running since replaced.

If only a GTR engine and transaxle wasn't an arm and legs

This looks like the A/C service bulletin. If you log in you can read/print it out: http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/showthread.php/itb12-042-11063.html?t=11063

Didn't know this.

Thanks so much!

That site is really good for recalls/service bulletins. They also have service manuals. You are limited with your downloads per day, but what I did was save them so after a few days I had the whole manual on my computer.

I have a full one too. Too bad it can't be posted in its entirety

Nevermind...I found it :)

Sounds like it could very well be the tires. I second Wayne's recommendation on doing a rotation. It's an easy and effective way of isolating the vibration issue.

Same issue (they are directional too, btw), noise in the front + vibe.

You can try this, it doesn't have a limit/day I believe

the doorhandles are cheap - i have broken 2 in 2.5 years. Just pulled em straight off.

BUT THE WORST THING! THE WORST THINGS IS that the cigarette lighter isnt the same voltage as the iphone chargers and does not work.

Damm FX is way too slow!!....over the wknd this super cute chick in newer C Class wanted to race me at a stop light and basically
just smoked me. I could tell she just got it and wanted to show off...but damm was it embarassing lol
Gotta get my supercharger installed soon!! but Stillen taking their sweet time re-manufacturing it (bought a used blower last yr)

Yeah, it's a little disheartening driving around knowing that a Toyota Sienna can give you a run, but then I remind myself the FX is a great car otherwise. I almost got a Vortech a few years back, but realized that even then, it was going to be slow. The cost to maybe run low 14's wasn't worth it to me and to always have to worry about the motor letting go.

Now the problem is that I alternate between driving the FX and a modified 335i with ~380whp on the same commute. With the BMW, I can pass people with ease, close gaps and get around traffic. With the FX, it requires a lot of advanced planning and carrying momentum because there is no acceleration especially if you're rolling at low speeds in traffic, it's always in one gear too high.

that's what I am thinking too. If I wanted something fast so I can race people on the street, big heavy SUV with a 3.5L engine wouldn't be my first choice.

How much is Stillen charging to re-manufacture the blower?

Well I bought a used Stage 4 last year around same time I think you were getting yours. According to them it was beat up and Stillen had to
have it sent to Magnusson, who actually makes the blower. This took months and they told me it would be $150 just for them to open it up
and check it out. Heard from them a few weeks ago and they said it's going to need to be re-man; new bearings, new seals and machine work done,
no estimate though on how much it will cost. They said they would let me know once they heard back from Magnusson...I'll let you know once I find out.

Hey Z...how much quicker/faster is your FX now. Are you satisfied with the results...how is the acceleration now?
