What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I picked one up for the around the same price as a Transgo. So this will save me the hassle of drilling and breaking apart the VB.

Stillen VB finally in today. Took 4 hours, not hard, but messy and definitely would have gone faster with a helper. Lifting the VB back in and getting it bolted up took me over an hour because my arms kept cramping up and I couldn't hold it long enough to get a few bolts threaded.

Yesterday I finally got the GT Spec lower engine brace in, had to make my own rivet nut tool since it's hard to find one that fits an M12.

For anyone who is interested, I have a lot of M12 rivet nuts left. They're the ones GT Spec uses in their kits. So PM me if you need a few, I had to buy 50 and only used 4. FWIW, the hardware to install the brace cost me $7 between 4 rivet nuts and the bolts I needed. That's at full retail hardware store pricing. GT Spec charges $29 and can't be bothered to keep them in stock...

Yesterday, I changed the front and rear differential fluid. There was a surprising amount of sludge and my FX only has 50K on it.

Last Monday, got the rear rotors and pads on.

And just a random shot of it all put together. This is the rough ride height, once I mess around some more with the fenders, I may get it down another 3/4" which would be bottomed out on the coilovers.

Yeah, that VB is quite heavy when you're in that awkward position under the car. Nicely done. You got a lot done on the FX lately.

Pulled a muscle I think...lol. I'm switching jobs soon, so I'm using up vacation days since I don't get paid for them when I leave. Unfortunately, I have about 3 weeks left and new job starts in one. Oh well. So lots of car projects and home projects. I've accumulated parts for months for both now, finally getting it all done before I start working nonstop again.

Let's see some pic of the LED turn signal mirror cover. Never tired of see one.
I just love the look and functionality. :good:

Will do, but it's nothing new. I'd assume it's the same mod as the Transgo, I just happened to stumble across this for $300 vs. the $700 Stillen normally charges. So instead of buying the Transgo for $250 and drilling my VB, I just swapped my OEM one with this modded one. Still have my OEM one in case anything goes wrong.

So far, only put 100 miles on it. Haven't really gone too hard since the instructions said to not drive aggressively for 50-75 miles while the air works its way out of the VB. Under normal driving, it feels stock. Under WOT, it shifts harder. The only annoying part is if you're cruising in traffic in 2nd and lift off. The car bangs into 3rd which is pretty common on G35's too. I looked it up, and some guys with Transgo have it, some don't. Some guys have it with stock trannies and some don't. Apparently the VB just magnifies it some. If I'm giving it any gas at all, the shift is very smooth.

Shadow keep us posted on the VB, its an interesting mod.

What do you think?

Also, when I was disassembling the driver side mirror, one of the three screws on the bottom of the mirror was rusted out, and I basically ruined the head of the screw trying to get it out, so I didn't put it back once the cover was installed. So there's only two screws instead of three. Should I just leave it with two screws or should I look for another of the same size from somewhere (home depot, lowe's, etc)?

Not to my knowledge. I know people have done the mirrors in various colors, but not tied them to DTRLs.

I'd be careful with that one as you might get some confusing traffic problems, if they think your turning, but really you're just going straight.

Finally installed my Amsoil hydrophobic sock (air filter condom) in preparation for winter in Seattle. Having the air filter jammed so far down inside the fender well with the recent heavy rains.....not good without protection.

I scraped my car, barely, trying to get out of a parking spot that a truck with a trailer decided to park right next to me. I was reversing, and could not see this sharp point sticking out of the bottom of the trailer and it scratched my car :(

Today I swapped out my 22's (summer set up) and put on my 20's (winter set up) :smile (2): found out I need to replace a rear wheel bearing in the process :disapointed: oh well.
