What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Down here in the US we have this little thing called a garage. You should get one! :tongue (2):
I would love to but I keep deciding on something else instead.

Dropped the FX off at the dealer to get the shifting driver's seat checked out before my warranty expires this month.

optimas have a higher rate of failures then a normal battery however. google search optima problems/defects and you shall see. Diehard platinum is a gel-cell battery. Not saying they are crap, when they work they work great but when they fail, its done for. People who store cars shouldn't be using Optimas. Its more marketing then superior product. I had one, but it might of been my fault that it failed. I just unhooked postive end for the winter storage, 4 months later. It didn't fire up, didn't respond to a charge. It did show 12v but not much CA/CCA it was 60 degrees so CCA shouldn't matter.

I much rather pay under $100 for a normal diehard with 5 year warranty VS a $150-200 for a Optima red that could crap out. Ive been using diehard gold in the last couple of cars and love their warranty, like craftsman its more like a no questions asked type of deal.

not refuting, just saying the yellow top should be able to hold it's charge. a red one i don't think will.

I did see the optimas say it's not a gel-cell.

Not really something I did to it but I registered the FX so I can park "legally" in my college parking lot. Last semester I was parking there everyday without a parking permit and racked up about $500 worth of parking violations to Nassau County. I blame myself for being too lazy to get a parking permit but I finally did lmfao:

The actual permit that sticks onto the windshield should be coming in the mail soon.

I'll refute. Google "(insert any other brand name) battery problems/defects" and examine the results. Searching for problems is not an objective measure of overall quality, but rather an example of confirmation bias.
Optima had some widely known (and reported, and re-reported) quality control issues years ago but they've long since been addressed. As far as a normal battery's warranty period goes - I'd way rather pay $200 up front and and never be stranded, have to jump my car, or have to use a battery warranty at all. Btw, I have probably 15 combined years running Optimas and have literally never had a single issue, and a couple of those units were purchased during the problematic era. Not that my single experience is very indicative of all experiences, but it certainly demonstrates a positive track record in my situation...

While it might be true, your paying a premium and its held to a higher standard. Aleast I do.

I don't have 15 years of battery experience, more like 9 but ill stick to my low maintenance liquid filled. As it never left me stuck or required me to get a jump either. Other then my car in storage, which could of been my fault.

For the average driver not running a sound system, I think its a waste of money and overkill.

Left my baby at work in the parking lot while I'm in Montreal,Quebec

Any Infiniti scene members out here?

This showed up for my filter tonight. One day when it runs again it will keep my CAI from sucking water, game changer.
