What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Was going to attempt to maybe repaint my grill (construction has taken a toll, lots of chips already, Chicago guys can verify) but had a hard time getting the stupid clamps so i gave up!
Takes 5 minutes once you know how to get the clamps off. Good thing you didn't force it and break them:

haha yea i gave up for today! hopefully we can get one more nice day before the crappy weather kicks in. Can you get replacements of the like caps on the top of the grill? I don't know what they are called but my FX was missing a few when i got it and the others are kinda crappy and stripped. Or is this something i will have to go to infiniti for?
Two choices:
1) take the caps out and go to autozone/pepboys/etc... they have a universal section and find one that is similar.
2) Just go to infiniti and buy them. But they are like $1.50 each...

I.....
- Glued my infiniti decals on my weather tech floor mats with 3m adhesive (Thanks Andy).
- Changed out both engine filters after vacuuming/cleaning the inside. - yuck
- Changed out the cabin grape micro-filter - yuck
- Replaced windshield wipers with new OEM ones - very nice (in Borat voice)
- Vacuumed up both filters underneath the seats.
- Vacuumed up some leaves and bugs I found on the radiator grill (behind the grill) - I wonder if you guys use a product to get all the bugs or clean it off with something special...not that it needs it, but just curious? Or might be better off not to touch it considering if you touch it too much you start bending the radiator grill metal pieces pretty easily.
As I was checking fluid levels (all looked ok, but power steering seemed a bit dark for almost 47k miles), I noticed a cigarette but laying on the engine block. I have noticed 3 new scratches from my last 2 dealer visits, but the cigarette but on the engine block (no damage just sitting there) is seriously making me consider doing my own work on my car.....I can fix pretty much anything around the house and have fixed my tv, fridge, dishwasher, etc....I think it's time to start getting more dirty....maybe I'll do my first oil change on my wife's car as a start. Will need to buy some solid stands or what not then, jack, etc. I'm not afraid as much anymore considering I've seen Andrews roof apart, my dash apart, my truck apart from Marus' install. Now just have to make sure I appropriately secure the car above the ground when I would work on it since that is my wife's biggest phobia considering that's how her dad died.

1) Hm... radiator is sensitive so be careful. I had my cousin take mine off and spray it from the back with air to clean it. I'd maybe just spray it with low pressure water (no compressor)
2) I use two jack stands, one on each side. Then I lower onto jack stands, still leaving the jack as a back-up. Then I slightly push on the car from the side lightly -- then push harder to ensure it is solid.
I have rhino ramps too, but those scare the heck out of me. that plastic is strong enough, but doesn't make me feel safe.

Got my HID and DTRL LED today so when I get home I'll prob install these bad boys. Question for you guys, what are those connectors for? I had purchase direct replacement HID bulbs. Is this for china ballast?

I love my Rhino Ramps, I use them with my full size GMC Crew Cab and my FX.
A good aluminum service jack is also invaluable, I have the one from Tire Rack. I just used it today to put my snows on my GMC, lift one end at a time no problem.
I also have a set (4) of axle stands to place under the vehicle if I am actually going under the vehicle.
I good hydraulic bottle jack also is very handy ( I have posted on here about mine with my custom adapter)
Received my Megan y-pipe and talked to a local exhaust guy about making me a custom resonator-less 3" mid pipe and rear section. Assuming I can settle on a muffler in the next day or so, I should be able to get it done next Wednesday.
I also applied the +2 timing mod via Unichip, but only from ~50-100% throttle. BIG difference in response from a stop, that's for sure. The slight lag off the line during the intake inhale is almost gone. Can't wait to get the wideband sensor installed so I can start playing with the fuel maps.

I forgot to mention that I also circumvented the throttle position intelligence in the ecu so that pressing the pedal to the floor results in 100% throttle regardless of driving habits. That one is nice too.
