What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I have been itching to replace the wood trim. Decided to go with carbon fiber dipping. This is a lengthy process that wraps the trim in real carbon fiber cloth, a few layers of epoxy and finally a few layers of clear coat. I went with the honeycomb carbon fiber and it looks great in my opinion.

I didn’t hate the wood trim I just didn’t think it fit the personality of the car.

I like the look and agree the wood trim doesn’t really fit the personality. How difficult is it to take the door trim off? Does the whole door panel have to come off or can the wood trim pop out easily on its own?

Unfortunately you need to remove the door panel to get to it. The wood trim in screwed to the interior of the door panel and you have to remove the panel to get to the screws.

Really easy just buy the latest new apple tv on ebay (much cheaper than apple), car power inverter, and HDMI to RCA:
Apple TV (4th generation) 64GB - picked up sealed new on ebay for $125 (you can buy 32gb version if you want cheaper)
Amazon.com: SNAN 200W Car Power Inverter DC 12V to AC 110V with 3 AC Outlets and Dual USB Charging Ports: Automotive or similar
Amazon.com: Musou 1080P HDMI to RCA Composite AV Video Audio Converter: Home Audio & Theater or similar

About ~$150 and you got apple tv in your car, so I stream movies, etc all while driving. Everyone with iphones, ipads can connect to it easily, stream music, etc. Been using it for months a love it.
Where are the instructions on how to make these connections?

Its that time of year again, so it was time to put the 22's back onto the QX70.

So I purchased a front upper strut bar for my QX70 (from a G37). Hoping to find time this weekend to install it, and post pictures.

Any sound clips?

I'll put together some sound clips in the next few days. Pending the weather holds up by me.

Any drone?

Honestly I would say yes. Around 2-2.5k is where it's the most. No rasp at all. I've put in under 300 miles since the install so far so I guess this would be an early review. It sounds great on a cold start deep and loud. Once warm its still deep but isn't as loud when starting up. WOT- in-cabin noise with windows up- you can hear the growl doesn't sound loud but has a hint of drone. WOT- in-cabin with windows down reminds me of a stock GTR roaring by.

Since its still being broken in I'm not sure if the drone will lessen and with that the growl and deep exhaust note If I notice anything I'll definitely report back.

Side note: I also noticed more white smoke and more dense out the tail than usual during a cold start. Not sure if its related to the exhaust but I'm keeping an eye on it. I never really had any oil issues before or noticeable at least. I'm just going to say its part of the break-in period for now.

Years ago, I was in RIPnFX's 2012 and I notice a hint of drone as well. Thanks for the review. No doubt the ARK is the best looking and best sounding thus far. I recently got myself a 17 QX70S and been looking for exhaust.

My pleasure only returning the favor to fellow members with the info as you've helped me. Hopefully I get a chance to put these videos together and yawl can hear what I hear. Ark has/had a good sale and I just had to jump on it, free shipping and 25% discount. Not sure if its still going on but if your looking to buy now would be the time!

So by your pics it does look like they moved the x-pipe to right after the cats, and the resonators are now between the x-pipe and the mufflers.

I found my Ark pretty unbearable in the 1,500-2,000 rpm zone. Not drone-like... but more of a low pressure feeling. (No exhaust leaks either).

Thats how my HKS is set up. I used the X-pipe from the Invidia exhaust I had.

Yup that's correct. I have stock cats right now but after them follows the Y-pipe (has the Flex and X integrated into it) then a straight portion with resonators and followed by the exhausts. I inserted a pic of when they were laid out on the floor prior to the install. I get what your saying about the low pressure but have only noticed it around the 2 -2.5 k range (Kind of feels like drone to me) where I'm at a speed that's just at that point prior to switching gears and the cars asking for a bit more gas but I cant thanks to the local speed limit of 25pmh.

Yeah PJ its pretty much the same as your set-up. What test pipes are you running? Res or non-res? I see it has the J style bung's for the O2 sensors. Did it throw a code still?

Camshaft sensors & leaky PCV valve replacement just arrived. Getting code for faulty sensor & CEL/SLIP lights + limp mode.
