What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

I am still debating about getting the viper smart start remote starter. Had it for my old Fx35 and loved it

You can start your car via your phone on the cell network. You can start your car anywhere in the world...

That actually freaks me out a little bit... with how easy it would be to hack something like that.

The only way they would be able to do it is by hacking the smart start website bc they will need your remote start serial number to enter in order to be able to turn it on and off

Doesnt sound like an overly hard way to steal a $50K car. just my 2 cents, dont mean to be a downer. I do think it's pretty amazing tech, just makes me nervous is all

It only starts it, you wouldn't get far with the car without the chip key / key fob... The steering lock would still be locked

Remote/smart start just starts the car while locking the doors. Depending on the installer, the default safety shutoff is 15 minutes after being idle. To be able to drive, you still need the key/fob.
Sure, if you someone has the inclination to hack your car to start it, he won't be able to do anything else. Perhaps to just waste your gas.

I had remote start on my old car and it was great, but the install was botched originally and screwed the electrical system. Been hesitant to add to the FX, but would love it...

What did it do to your car? My starter works great but I have noticed that when I use it, the lights in my center control panel flicker a bit when I initially put the car in reverse. not overly concerned about it, but it does happen every time..

I just noticed something while working around my FX yesterday. It was dark outside, so I turned on the headlights to illuminate my work area. I guess it's a safety feature or something, but the headlights won't stay on for more than a few minutes. I had to switch them to the off position before turning them on again.
I gave up after a few times, and used standalone spot lights instead.

Installed these tonight I was worried for a short time got the new bulbs in and the right side still wasn't working I was worried the ballast had gone bad but got lucky found that the ballast had become unplugged.
These new bulbs are much brighter and light up more area than the OE's.
