What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Installed the powerstop z26 pad and rotor set on all 4 corners. Slight improvement over stock, initial bite is better. Decent upgrade for the price. Make sure to follow the break in procedure, heard this is crucial

Found an axleback from a 2011 IPL G37 for $160 and threw it on. Left muffler tip is slightly bent but this was the best they could do since it was double walled. Sounds a lot better now but not as loud as I'd want it, now considering a test pipe..

Looks great!

Did some maintenance since i just went over 100 000 miles (160 000 km).
Front differential oil, rear differential oil, transfer case fluid, transmission drain and fill, engine oil. All together took about 4 hours with some beer and smoke breaks. Today I am going to try and tackle spark plugs, got new one just didn't have time last night to figure out how to replace them.

Blacked out the front emblem and the rear emblem today and debadged the 'QX70S' and the '3.7' tags. Firs time using plastidip so I have a few spots that aren't perfect. I'd say I got it about 90 percent perfect. Good enough for government work also considering I'm not sure how much I love it. If it grows on me one day when the wife is out of town I'll respray and also hit the door handles and rear hatch guard. 598d84df3b8456d6f32252325e4c7934.jpg

That looks real good. Did you just use flat black or did you also put a clear coat of plastidip?

I had a feeling I wasn't going to like the look of the straight flat black of the plastidip so I hit it with some krylon glossy clear on top. 4 coats of clear on top of 5 coats of plastidip

Catch can has been leaking for a while and I got tired of there being oil spray all over that area (cheap eBay can so it was leaking from the seal). I disassembled and sealed it, but it still didn't hold so I decided to get a better quality baffled can.

Old vs. New, note the new one is welded so less likely to leak and it has internal baffles.

New can installed

Next project to complete. I had the filter left over from a project on my BMW (it's about the largest cone filter made) and I always wondered if I could custom build a CAI so we'll see. I have a huge amount of room behind the foglight since none of the stock resonator is left and I've already test fit the filter. Piping is generic 90 degree bend and I have a MAF adapter to install.

I wanna see this cold air intake when it's done. I just don't think that any other intake is worth it for the "gains" you get, it's a show piece really. So why not get a show piece for less. Post pictures after please

Started installing the intake and forgot I needed bolts for the MAF adapter, the OEM bolts thread into my JWT filter. So I need nuts and bolts. In the meantime, I replaced the OEM accordian hoses with silicone couplers - used a hump hose at the throttle body. And of course my inner ricer said I had to use T-bolt clamps for all this...

This didn't happen today, but I replaced my rear tires on Saturday with 275/40/20 Nexen N'fera SU1's. Didn't flip my old tires in time so the rear camber ate up the insides; it took 18K so I can't complain. New tires run wider than the old ones so less stretch which I like.
