What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Interesting, I will look into this more. It seemed like it should be simple, bracket, 2 hose fittings, guess not.

Andy, can you use a reducer on the outlet hose? I saw the 350Z post where he cut the barb off. Seemed like you just used a bigger hose. I'm wondering if you can use the bigger hose, then put a reducer on it to an OEM sized hose before the metal line.

Oh wait, I look at the pictures again and I don't think I mount the PS tank onto the factory bracket. I mount it directly to the wheel well? Its been a couple years sense I did this and I have taken it off the FX35 now. I have thought about a reducer, but I don't like the look of so many clamps. The hose is a bit big on the metal line, but no leaks. I can easily twist and turn the hose at the metal line though. :smile (2):

I have no problem with steering with bigger hose.

Hmmm. you had no problem running with only one bolt holding the tank down like that?

If so that would make the bracket a lot easier to make.

Connect the two holes together exactly as you have and mount the tank from somewhere in the middle of that bracket would be optimal.

The hose problem is a bit of a pain, I would rather not have to move to a larger hose just because the stupid fitting on the new tank is a larger size. I will sit on that for a little. Easiest solution would just be to install a tiny rubber ring around the hardline and just install a larger hose. I might just do that.

I'll be certain to update with what I do, although by looking at your pictures Andy its pretty self explanatory and I think I was over thinking this a little.

Today I curbed a wheel...again. 3 weeks with new wheels and 2nd curbed one. Old wheels I hadn't curbed in over a year (except for the one I did a week before I took them off). Good thing I found a touch up paint pen that matches the gunmetal pretty well.

Downside of driving through downtown Atlanta every day while they're laying tracks for streetcars. All the lanes are narrower and curbs come right up to the edge. And the downside of having wheels that stick out a couple of inches past OEM. Upside is the wheels are inexpensive so it doesn't hurt too much.

No worries, first one hurt. But then when I touched it up, it's not noticeable so I know these will be the same. I was expecting it too. Upside is that gunmetal shows curb marks much less than polished lip after they're touched up. Polished lips have to be sent off to get redone, these I just use touch up paint. The FX is the daily urban assault vehicle so it's going to happen.

And worst case scenario, these rims are only $210 or so each. I'm only going to flip out if I destroy one of the wheels on my other car which are $1200 each.

Tinted the foglights with film. Didn't like the way they sort of popped out since the rest of the front is blacked out. And this pic sort of shows how low it is.

And random shot I took.

This is what someone did to my FX today in the city. Of course, they drove off. (Happened in a parking garage) Sensors still work, trunk gate still opens and closes with no problems. Nice puncture hole in my bumper and cosmetic on my trunk.

Guess it's a good time to remove that stupid badge that I forgot to ask the dealer to remove.

2 weeks old! Took it to a place called "dent recon" formally dent wizards and they are quoting me$550 to repaint it, pop the dent, and sand down and repaint the section of the trunk. They have a good reputation. No other place is less than $900. The most expensive part is the trunk, as long as it looks 50% better I'll be happy. I'm bound to get hit again, I wouldn't be fixing it if the trunk didn't get damaged.

Just noticed that my taillight is shifted up. It's weird because everywhere else the trunk lines up. Do you think it's bent up slightly? If you look at the pic you'll notice the taillights aren't even.

:( i don't notice anything wrong when it open and closes

It's not a huge deal, because I'll expect to get hit more since people don't know how to drive. I'm just really anal about things like that z
