What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Had the window chrome and rear hatch chrome bars wrapped in gloss black. And front windows tinted at 50%.

New body kit, wheels coming soon.

I wrapped my original shift knob in cf and then it started peeling so I ripped it off and looked for something different so I bought a new shift knob and shift boot from g35 driver. Here is what it looked like before everything was installed

The stitching matches the blue on my fx and the knob matches my exhaust tips. I couldn't be happier!

Nicely done JC.. come over and do mine.

Yesterday and today I did maintenance on my 04.

- Oil change with Mobil 1 5w20 high mileage synthetic
- Drain and filled transmission, only got 4 qrts out of drain plug. Will do again next week.
- Throttle body cleaning
- Mass air flow cleaning
- Stillen air filter cleaning
- Changed 4 spark plugs, other 2 have issues. One had oil, the other had a bad coil. I need a new valve cover and 1 coil.

Killjulz is the guy/G35 member who makes them. I've been considering one for a long time now. The boot is made by a different guy, but the same vendor sells them (I got the boot but got a MOMO knob and immediately took that off). The shift knob has a spring in there so it can still depress the button.
^What kind of knob is that?

slid on ice and jumped over a snow bank. Cracked my front bumper, and destroyed the radiator support. Other than that nothing else happened. I was stuck on the snow bank for 45min. Now I am looking for a new rad support. Anyone got ideas or links where to look for one? I would prefer used to save money of course

Transmission cooler? It can't hurt and will help prolong tranny life. If you ever tow it is helpful too. Since you're running through factory cooler in radiator, transmission will still get to normal operating temp.

The DIY on the G forum said he added 1/2 quart, but that was with 10 ft of hose. FX routing is slightly more direct so I added 1/4 quart to start and it ended up being enough. But it will depend on some things so I would just add a little to start. I just added through dipstick like usual.

I think you answered this, but want to clarify if adding the cooler allows you to bypass the radiator? I was reading today about other Nissan vehicles having an issue with the coolant mixing in the transmission fluid I guess in the radiator and harming the transmission. I'm still trying to figure out what's contaminating my coolant, if something even is, and since it had a reddish tint to the green tranny fluid seemed like a possibility.

I heard its caused by a bad radiator..mine was leaking and I had that same problem my coolant had like a redish layer almost; on the top of the coolant reservoir tank. I replaced the radiator and added new coolant and didnt have the problem since. I also did a tranny drain and fill and the fluid was a little dark but thank god there wasnt any coolant in the tranny.

Yeah, my thought is that there is rust somewhere in the system and unless it all gets cleaned out then it's going to keep tainting the coolant. Depending on price, might be worth just swapping the whole radiator instead of picking at smaller things hoping that fixes it.
