What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Oh it will stay shiny. It is protected by the belly pan. Just stick a rag and wipe it every now and then. Mine still shiny after three years on the my 35.

Had the mechanic take it for the day in order to install the Viper Smart start on the fX. Now I will be able to control the remote start from far away. Awesome

Very cool. With winter here, I've really been thinking about adding that interested to hear how the install went.

I heard the install was great however the mechanics friend who did the install said it took him a little longer bc there was a remote starter already installed in the FX. But other then that it was good. My mechanic recommended me this guy bc he does work on high ends car. I paid a little more then best buy but I was told this guy guarantees his work.

I'm a little gun shy, I had a remote start added to my previous car at Best Buy and it was a disaster, they didn't know what they were doing and shorted out several systems within my car. I had to take the car to a dealer to get both the gauge cluster as well as the radio replaced as they fried both of them. I don't know that I'll ever use BB again.

is best buy covering 100% of the costs? What the heck did they say when they called you about it? And why did you go with them?

Yeah, that was with my Oldsmobile Aurora, and they ended up covering all the repair costs and refunding the installation charges. I think it was about $2500 in total.

They called and said that they had everything installed, but that they thought they might have blown a fuse for the radio. I picked up the car and indeed the radio wasn't working and half of the lighting on my gauge cluster wasn't working either. I pointed it out immediately and the installation tech said that he hadn't noticed. I pulled a manager in right away and had a very interesting back and forth which eventually turned into us calling the corporate office.

I went with Best Buy because the remote start was a gift from my dad and he pre-paid for installation as well. He felt horrible when I called him with the details, but in the end I had a working remote start and some updated internal components. :)

Those are some nice looking winter wheels lol

Nah. They're used TSW Estoril 18x8. They came with those 225 tires, but I'm going to put some bigger winter tires on them. They're in perfect shape though, and for the price I paid I'm super satisfied. I may paint the spokes, like this:

What did I do to my FX since Christmas break?

Nearly completed PHASE II.....(73% there)
It's all mostly cosmetic but more financially tangible than FI right now...

Motordyne 5/16 upper plenum spacer -- installed (and fun)
GT-Spec front tower brace (thank you Ge0rge) -- installed
10.5 GT-R rears up front (thank you OhThatGuy) to match 10.5s in back -- installed but not yet painted darker Graphite
Blacked out head lamps -- baked and painted during Christmas break
Blacked out CHMSL and rear reflectors -- shaved raised lettering and tinted
New Infiniti all-aluminum pedals -- installed
Paint matched the door handles -- a fun and easy DIY
Audi Q5 turn signals in mirrors -- gotta buy em and try this yet
Lower front lip spoiler and rear badge paint match -- gotta get this done yet too

Attached is a before and a what-it-will-look-like after (PhotoShopped) to best give you the idea. Recent photos to come!
Thanks for watching!
