What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Discovered a nail in my tire... awesome. Recommendations on best way to approach it?

Switch to spare and take it to discount tires for a free repair. If its not a unique puncture like sidewall then they can repair like new. Do this before any repair yourself is my recommendation.

I got my tires from Firestone (desperate due to really bad and awkward tire wear) would you recommend going to them or discount tires is good?

And whats a quote for it being repaired? And a DT is right by my house so i wasn't going to even bother putting the spare on because of it.

They have always done it free for me even if I didn't buy the tire from there but I've bought many tires from them so not sure.

Discount Tire is always my first choice for a shop. You should be able to buy a DIY plug kit on your own, if you feel confident enough. Fortunately, the garage at my work used those plugs for me. Two summers ago, I had three nails and plugs in the same tire :mask:

:nerd (2): That's just success kid. First thing I thought of when Blueduck said the nail didn't puncture his tire.

last weekend i went for a ski trip. Drove through rainy, icy, snowy conditions for 7 hours
This is how the front of my car looked after 7 hour drive lol

Trip wasn't bad. As much as i love my fx, the 7 hour drive wasnt fun at all. tired me out. I did discover how to bypass the ics to normal cruise control when i started freaking i had 6 hours to go and no cruise control haha.

Also next year snow tires are a must... Got stuck behind a dump truck in a 2 lane highway in the inner lane cause the outer lane was full of snow/slush and was scared to go into that lane and hydroplane. Also almost rear ended a audi q5 at the bottom of the hill. i was idling down with brakes...

He stop complaining about the lack of snow :-)

finally was able to pick up my FX50 rims powder coated and got them installed and got some new lug nuts so that i won't have the same issue i had a month back. luckily the kid that installed my rim gave me some oem lug nut instead of using the ones that i bought online that are supposed to like oem lug nuts.
