What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

Spent 4hrs preparing / applying "b-quiet ultimate" damping material to the front passenger door. Added a good amount of weight and fingers are f@#$ked :ninja:.

Noticed the door already have a few pieces of factory damping materials. On this first pic, the center small shiny square is what I started with:

Laid out more to cover the the bigger exposed areas.

Reassembled and spread some more sheets. Big thanks to turbocad for the advices and help. Still got 3 more doors to go (should take less time now that I know the process) ....

I'm certain you're talented enough to complete this quicker than me, I snail thru these types of mods :smile (2):. Ahh... to be young and in physical shape, young grasshopper.

Nicely done Soon! I'll bring the beers when you take care of mine (after Pman's of course).

I had the rocking driver's seat taken care of under warranty by the dealer. They also replaced my drive belts for free too. Score!

So is this to help with the noise?
It should help with: road/outside noise and somewhat better audio sounding since it's better contained, I think.

Overall, it's not a huge cost and mostly labor. I'll help if you can scheduled it

Nice job on the "b-quite" install. Any reason that you didn't cover the entire outer skin of the door?
From what Turbocad had mentioned, the biggest impact to damping is to apply the weak points of the door, I have some also applied from the inner opposite door skins. Some areas I had applied were tucked up hidden from the camera shots. Where area might vibrate and causes the noise to resonate thru. Turbocad might be able to explain better, he even suggested to apply some on the insides of the interior panel :tongue (2): (I got lazy, I can always revisit that area by summer)...

Another thing in mind is, with the weight of the door has a good ~2-3lbs added, didn't want to go overboard of it being heavy. Definite want to test all 4 doors completed before I can commit more time/expense.

I have designed something new on the computer

Hi everyone, this is my firs post on this site, I'm new.
I have diamond graphite 2003 infinity fx35 AWD, took care of it really well, he was my reliable friend!
Well i have been driving it since 9000 miles on it, now I have about 100000 miles and my car has never left me on the road! (knock on the wood!) lol
I have a little issues, but not rushing to fix them! 1) gas gauge is not displaying correctly, you can say is not working, so solved it this way (filling up the tank and after driving 300 miles, refiling again) 2) front passenger door's actuator is down - not big deal I'm doing it manually!
The rest is like brand new!!!
The fun part is I moved into Los Angeles from Philadelphia, a month ago, and now I am going to make my fx look and work better. Unfortunately I can't post any images for now, as I am new, but I have exterior design based on photo (photoshoped) I took the image from internet and designed it as my car will look.
At once I will fix the rest minor problems!!!

I'm sorry I know this isnt the right place for this bit does anyone know where i could get the same fujita intake as sir21? Thanks for your help guys

Finally got around to pairing the g35 center caps for my GTR wheels. Came out pretty good, the color is almost perfect. Here are two pics. One with flash one w/o

Thanks. Yup did it myself. Picked up a can of spray paint and went at it. 3 coats, after each coat I would wipe off the paint off the chrome before it dried (just the "top" of the emblem since it sticks out a bit). Not perfect but good enlighten for me.
