What did you do to your FX / QX70 today?

i clayed bar the FX and then after that i waxed it using the turtle wax black box. The wax covered some scratches that were on the FX

today i got my tire rods changed, an alignment for the wheels and my transmission fluid change, basically because i hit 102k on my FX today :)

national holly day for me = detailing day.
cleaning interior, seats, body and quick waxing (Mag's)
Wheel waxing and black restoration left for tomorrow.

Thinking of window tints, it's already out.

Spark plugs = done. Platinum is a no go, trying iridiums.

Actuator for passenger front door = done (finally).

So can you tint the entire thing? I just did my BMW and they have a small like 2 mm gap at the top.

I would do the whole glass. In my experience, the little gap on top is not really necessary. Just trim the access at angle so the edge of the tint film not too sharp as the glass rolling into the weather strip channel to minimize the chance of tear or fold.

Didnt like how my 21x10.5 +30 wheels fit so I added my 20mm spacers now it be lookin good :smug:

Ill add pics when I get a minute

After working with a friend who owns a tint shop on several of my vehicles he has a great method for dealing with the edges without leaving a gap. Cut the majority of the excess off the edges of the windows, squeegee the water from between the film and the glass, removing all bubbles etc., then let dry for a bit (if sunny out 10-15 min should do in the heat for the next step).

Then take a flat metal file and run it on the edge of the glass at a 45 degree angle and it will cut any remaining tint off with a perfect edge to navigate between the door weatherseal trim without any peeling at all. Other benefit of this method is you CAN roll the windows down same day rather than waiting.

He's owned his windows tinting business for 20 plus years and is one of the best, and agreed - your on the right track by removing the glass - only way he does it (outside of rear windows).

well it was more yesterday but i just wanted to share it with you guys, i fixed my gas guage level finally, it was easy thanks to la_fx35 for the DIY, i could't be more happier :smile (2):

===== QUOTE tchuck ====

Fixed my broken grounding wire end and installed the UR alternator pulley.

UR pulley - yay or nay?

Nay to both acc pulleys. Neither are but a few grams lighter than their oem counterparts. If you purely want the bling, sure, but not for any kind of performance benefit.

Any pics GetLuckiFX

Took just one, was doing it in my driveway and the sun just started to beam on me without mercy, so the pics were coming out way too bright. Here is one that is somewhat decent. Will take some over the weekend or tomorrow morning if time permits.

Mounted the Amp under the spare wheel cover ensuring it is directly in the middle so it has plenty of room and ventilation.
