vibration on steering wheel when braking

Rotor problems aren't covered by the warranty, right?

Depends on mileage. Infiniti replaced my front rotors at 30k miles and I am now having a slight vibration at times at only 35,000 miles. I think "cleaning" the pads via hard braking will take care of it.

If I continue having problems, I will switch to aftermarket rotors, even if they are just Centric Premiums.

I had bad vibration coming from the stock brake pads and rotors coming down the mountain at 80mph. I bought the Powerslot rotors and Hawk pads all the way around before even checking everthing out. I just believed it had to be a warped rotor.

A mechanic friend came over to do the rotor and brake change. He found the problem. Rotors were perfectly fine, the OEM pads...though they had a lot of life left in them, had seperated from the metal backing. This was causing my vibration, not the rotors.

^^^ Andrew (or Andy dont know what you like :) )

I had some vibrations also coming down the mountain from Big Bear .... but it went away when I got on the freeway and there after ... weird. Hopefully it will be fine until I do the FX50 bbks.

I think it's just more pronounced going down mountain roads because you need to brake harder to slow down. The harder the pads contact the rotors, the more stiffly any imperfections will be felt.
