Hi all, just back from the cottage, and a little skiing
. First defjamz, my amp crossover is set at 12db, and if you are not looking to kill the bass one ten is definitely enough. second jdtrader, I don't think removing the factory sub has anything to do with the centre speaker(if you look at the wiring for the sub, it does not run back to the centre speaker), I don't know why the stereo shop would tell you that. Now as for upgrading the factory speakers, because you add a real subwoofer, you no longer need as much bass from the rest of the system, this allows you to use the factory system more for mids and highs, therefore actually reducing the chance of blowing your factory speaker's, don't get me wrong if you upgrade the rest of the speaker's it would definitely sound better, but it is all in what you want to do(mine sounds really good to me, so I wouldn't add any more). Jd that amp look's huge and will only fit in the spare tire well if you remove the spare tire(my amp just fit's inside the spare tire), as for the light's dimming or extra strain on the electrical system, I have not encountered any issues yet. I will be putting together a DIY with pic's, I am just waiting for the cold to let up a bit(-17 c today), in the meanwhile I will do my best to help. George your set up look's awesome, I think I will attempt to build my own custom fibreglass enclosure when it warm's up, I am finding space to be a little tight, and really like Georges set up.
