turbocad's custom fx

when I got my fx the colors were my least favorite inside & out. really didn't want the dg at all so I painted it a beautiful to me custom black pearl, but with the tan interior there was little I could do, been looking for an interior since even before I painted my fx.... woulda been ok with black but the brick/basketball is my absolute favorite, drool every time I see that interior, so classy, so impossible to just find though...


well I've been pretty lucky so far with most of my fx build, & it seems it hasn't run out yet, thanks to soon finding the ad & emailing it to me, got this sitting in my basement right now :

wow, love this interior, now my fx can be 100% beautiful to me in & out:smile:
 
John, I see the seats are pre-05 as the front pass seat only has 2 seat adjustment options. Does your current FX have the same? And yeah, did you get the headliner as well?

I am partial to the brick interior, =), glad my wife talked me into waiting and getting the combo I did.

I definitely can't see these.. I believe these are pics directly from a private album and that might be why I'm not able to see them..
 
Dam I learn stuff everyday, lol.

But shouldn't supporting members be able to see them also?
 
that is strange how some see them & some don't. I was testing out if images tucked away in a private album could be used to display pictures in threads instead of the thumbnails :tongue: I set the album to public now. EDIT: ah, that's what it ment by "contacts", so friends list can see it...


doc, my interior now is 03, so yeah, light on the passenger controls I guess. what is added to the newer ones?

must be cool to buy a car brand new & pick everything you want & every option & every color, this is def the next best thing though:laugh:


yeah, got this interior from a craigslist add, it was in pretty bad shape when I got it. it was piled up in a garage with one thing on top of the other, there were so many deep impressions & marks in it that I wasn't even sure if it would really even all come out. it was also filthy, couldn't tell much if it was stained... it took like 8 hours work to get them to look like this, heating & stretching, cleaning & conditioning... it cleaned up pretty nice though really, it's not flawless but it's at least pretty nice at this point.

it was not complete either, I will recover all the upper pillars & headliner in black suede. can't decide if I want to do a black carpet or brick... that's a tough call but I'm thinking might look nice with black carpet... gotta still buy everything else, sill plates, drivers lower dash panel, rear panels & stuff, gotta sell my cargo cover & buy a black one...

stulax, my interior is a mix of years, mostly 03, but dashboard & cluster & rear panels are newer style, rear was done to take the later cargo cover. now I'll do the later lower panel too on the drivers knee bolster to have the extra switch positions since I have to buy one anyway...


I woulda loved to get my hands on a mint virgin interior from an 07-08, but this all in all is not bad at all, will be crisp with a new headliner & carpet too...

Same controls as the driver's side.

My suggestion would be to go with the black carpet. I have brick carpet but use oem black carpet floor mats in the front and rear with the black all season mats on top of that. It is a good looking match to the black headliner.

I use black carpet mats also, thanks to my salesperson :tup: They look better, and stay cleaner.
 
yeah, think black carpet would look nice really. the carpet is pretty expensive in the fx, no one makes an aftermarket molded carpet for it either...

the drivers seat is much heavier than the passengers seat because of the extra control, a little weight savings without the add'l control on the passengers seat:tongue:... be nice to gut some of the drivers seat weight too...
