turbocad's custom fx

gotta see these calipers behind the new wheels, hmmm burnt orange overlay by black and chrome lip....:shy:

You are WAY to zen man. If Iforge would have screwed me like that I would have repainted them with an HRE logo. Those rotora's would have been marked brembo!! Super nice work as always.

put the brakes on tonight. they cleaned up perfect, they look awesome, fit the look of my fx perfect, I'm happy with them, can't wait to see them in the daytime... in the end I'm glad the red didn't match or I probably would have just put them on red... this looks soooo much nicer to me, can't wait to see them with the wheels, wow, def gonna look crazy I think...

redduc, maybe lifes too short to focus on the negatives I guess... maybe it's just because I pretty much almost expect it from many I think, I gave up on expecting perfect a long time ago, sometimes best to hope for is that they don't really screw it up too bad & that I at least have something decent to work with, they do suck with there one on one customer service though, that's for sure, then again, I've seen much worse too, sad that they pretty much seem average to me really I guess...

now, while were on the subject of crappy customer service, check this out!, I happen to look under my fx since it' all hoisted up n theair anyway while doing the brakes & notice something very strange... my exhaust system is all rusty, & I mean a lot of rust... stainless steel don't rust... get this, stillen screwed up & sent me an exhaust that's not stainless??? I do remember thinking it looked kinda cheap for what it was supposed to be, but just assumed it was stainless because that's what I ordered. now, thinking back to what it looked like when I first saw it, I should have known it wasn't stainless, guess the possibility never even crossed my mind... gotta deal with stillen customer service now... which is already known to be very crappy. think they'll send me a new stainless exhaust? why do I doubt that... I hate pain in the ass stuff like this...

oh well, at least hopefully if all goes well, new wheels will go on tommorow, can't wait to see what these crazy tires grip like

Sad but true. Good customer service is a lost art. One more reason these forums are so valuable. When we call a vendor armed with the info we learned here on IS they have little choice but to handle us with care. Can't wait to see the brakes. I am only a few days away from ordering my fx50 fronts (the stock brakes are starting to shimmy on high speed decelerations).

+1 on this site and +1 on the lack of customer service. If its not the norm then they don't want to hear it.

You know it's funny you mention stillen exhaust not looking like stainless. When I received my stillen headers I thought they didn't look like stainless. Some welding was done on them with stainless rod and that seemed normal. I'm thinking they might be using very cheap low grade stainless. That would explain your rust.

I'm not impressed with stillen at all. They may perform well but their quality has room for improvement.

I'm really loving that orange, bringing a little interior color outside ties it together nicely. Those small details add a good punch!

I always thought the Stillen fab looked kinda China. Unlike the Nismo stuff which has welds similar to a nice MTB frame. As far as material, I put a magnet up to all the parts on the Nismo, & the only area that gets any stick is the Y. Just for thought

fyi GTO, most MTB frames are made in China now. My Cannondale and wifes Trek both are in made in China. Welds looks real good though.

I was talking about the Hello Kitty stuff . . besides, what's not made in China these days? . . Was just a figure of speech, ya know

BTW, I'm in manufacturing, so I know where stuff gets made

looked at my headers & they look fine, no rust... gotta call stillen monday & see what they have to say.. who would want a non stainless exhaust for over $1k in nyc???, what a waste, what's it gonna last? 3-4 years tops if I'm lucky?... friggin bs...

got my wheels on tonight... got quite a bit of driving in with them on too... there smooth as silk all the way up to 90... they balanced up very nicely, with 3 out of the 4 needing a total weight added of only 1.0 oz, 0.75 oz & 0.5 oz. the worse out of the 4 was one rear wheel which needed 3 oz's... not bad at all for a 22X11" wheel... the wheels & the tires are top quality when it comes to balancing & running true. very impressed & happy with the wheels overall in that regard... as long as the 3 piece re-assembly don't leak now I'm good :embarrassed:

I did a nice amount of driving with no problems at all with the awd seeing any issues with this stagered setup, if it was going to kick a light for seeing a problem it would have in 3-4 hours straight driving I think... shouldn't have anything to worry about as far as the staggered setup & awd is concerned I think...

the staggered setup looks amazing... it is very apparent from most angles that the rear wheel is larger than the front, the rear looks stuffed & it really fills out the rear of the car & makes it look agressive, I set it as the rear wheels sticking out slightly more than the front to add to the staggered appearance, overall it worked out very well... the wheel & brake compliment each other & visually work very well togeather, overall the look is very beautiful I think... looks right, right stance... maybe the front could use another 1/2" - 3/4" drop for a bit more rake to really complete the staggered look, but other than that it just looks soooo sweet.. couldn't imagine a wheel I'd like better for my fx, the open design lets the beauty of the brakes show up nice & I love the directional twist, got them angled same direction as the rotor slots... looks so good. tommorow I should get some shots
