The Random Question Thread

Once you buy those camber bolts, you need to have the sub-frame holes that front lower link and rear lower link slotted/elongated using the template that comes with the kit to allow for the +/3 degree clearance. It all depending on the Firestone you go to if they willing to do that.

In order to slot the sub-frame, you need to undo the end of the shock that bolted to the front lower link so that it can be slide out of the way so that you don't slot the link hole. You only need to slot the hole on the sub-frame). You will have to completely remove the rear lower link (spring bucket) in order the slot the rear lower link hole in the sub-frame.

I recently put on my new 22 inch wheels and on saturday i installed. Kyb shocks and eibach spring now when i go over 50 my wheel feels. Wobbly. Do i need an alignment

Does your steering wheel shakes at that speed? I'm suspecting a balancing issue rather then alignment. Alignment off, it does contributes the "unplanted" feel too.

Thanks soo much!! I have 1 more quick question. (Last one I promise) I emailed BC racing about how to adjust the coilovers in the rear and they told me that the shock assembly is for the preload and the spring assembly is for the ride height. Looking at it, I think it's the other way around for some reason. Am I wrong? And has anyone raised or lowered BC coilovers before on the rear? (Sorry again for all the questions)

They're right :). The spring is for height adjustment and the shock is for dampening (not sure I would use "preload" in this sense). I have raise and lower BC coilovers. Anything in particular you want to know? :smile (2):

Yea. So to raise it I would loosen the locking ring first which im assuming is the top most ring on the spring assembly and just lower the bottom one however much I want to and then just lock the top one again right? The confusion for me is caused by the rear only having two rings instead of 3 like the front ones. But since the shock has the preload ring and they're seperate, it makes sense.

That's it :good:. Lift the car a little bit with a jack to relief some tension on the spring will make the ring turn easier. Oh, I forgot about the ring on the shock body. They're right again.
You may want to check the preload on the shock once you dial in on the ride height.

I will try to balance the wheels first cause with my stock 20s I didn't have this problem. Thanks

What's your wheel center bore size? There are many hubcentric rings available on eBay, or you can order a custom hubcentric rings for $35 or so.

If i did pickup some gtr rims, would you guys recommend towing with them on? strong enough? in the future i might be towing my uncles boat which is around 3500 pounds.

on the side note, the guy selling the gtr's is rims only for 2k blah. wish they came with tires so i can sell those to recoup some money lol

There should be no problem towing with the GTR rims installed, but you will be at your FX's max towing capacity.

yea i know its maxed out but its not gonna be a constant thing. Im afraid because its a lightweight "racing" rim, it might not take as much load as the stock fx rims. i plan to tow it maybe once or twice a year and drive with caution. Obviously ill take it slow accelerating and braking.

On the side note, gtr rims so much cheaper in the states. same condition, no tires for $1200 :(. gonna see how much shipping is.
