Even though mine was the hood latch it sounded exactly like it was coming from the passengers front wheel. You've got plenty of places to start. :)
 
Does anybody else think the new Acura ZDX looks A LOT like the BMW X6?
 
Update, went under the car to inspect the front suspension. Turned the wheel all the way, grabbed the passenger side cv joint(???) and there was a a slight movement(area circled in red). I think replicated the sound as well trying to shake it hard, guess it's not normal since there is no movement on drivers side.

Question, do I need to replace both cv joints, or I can just replace the passenger side? Is it safe to drive for now? How many dealer hours required to replace one joint? Also found the remanufactured CV joint on rockauto.com, price is good, IDK if it will be good for years though?

I doubt that would be where the noise is coming from. My thinking was if that the bad part, it would be some sort of grinding noise rather than the knocking noise because it rotates. Your noise is from going over bumps cause by impact pressure.

Not sure if there should have a little plays (not a lot) in them? All four on my two FXes has a little play in them and I don't hear any kind of noise on mine. You have a good point that your driver side doesn't have any play in it though, idk. Not sure my friend.

As for hours to replace it, it should be 2.0 to 2.5 hours. I think it still safe to drive.
 
It's painted plastic, so I guess you can paint, wrap it or buy a new replacement which is under $90.
