The Random Question Thread

does anyone know the color code for the orange color on the gtr calipers

///6881[/ATTACH]

From what I've read it's a powder coat, but the closest paint color is Brembo Y-61P

Geico did my repair for free. If not the off-the-shelf kit is the same, except the pro's us a UV light to speed up the bonding process.

Sometimes the crack is visually gone, if not, it helps it from not spreading or getting bigger.

So one of my favorite features on the FX is the gridlines on the backup camera as they come in pretty handy in those super tight spots.

Our family's Lexus RX did not come with the grid lines and i've been trying out a workaround. Does or has anyone ever made a vinyl overlay to put over the backup camera lens so that it will permanently display gridlines? Not sure how feasible this is as the lines may be out of focus, and need to printed super small. The more I think about the more it seems like a bad idea, haha, but doesn't hurt to ask, right? :)

I think Sharpie makes a fine point tip marker. How are you at drawing straight lines? :clown:

are the kand n cone filters universal like opening size?

We.l her is my friends car purchase dragged out. The sales guy tells him that he probably wouldn't want an IPL because it will suck in winter the dealer is offering him any car he wants at cost. They dealer will eat shipping and give him the financing percentage they pay. So no money is being made he of course the best deal would be like a Lamborghini or something exotic but he wants to keep it in the 35k maybe 40k range. A few benzs, bmws, audis. What do people think is the best bang for your buck here if it was you? Also looked at the cts-v but little out of the price range

No, they offer about 1000 different sizes. You need to measure yours. You might be able to get the specs from K&N directly as well. I'm sure they'll be able to look up the Stillen order fairly easily...

You'll never be able to draw the lines small enough with a sharpie. The camera lens is ~1/2" dia.

Try this:

1) layout a tape measure behind the car and place masking tape at your desired grid distance intervals such that you can see them on the screen.

2) Place a sheet of vellum on your viewing screen and trace the masking tape lines perfectly, and make them as thick as you'd like to see them on the screen. Be careful with Sharpies though, they have a tendency to bleed. Also mark the extents of the image at the corners.

3) Measure the exact size of the backup camera lens.

4) Shrink the image to lens size by making your image extent marks equal the camera lens diameter on a high quality laser copier.

5) print it on a transparent sticker.
