The Random Question Thread

Thanks Pork, will keep that under advisement if something goes wrong.

I just bought the ISNI571 module from iSimple.. for $50!!
is it NECESSARY to remove the negative terminal from the battery?

To be safe, sure remove it. But I haven't been doing that though. :smile (2):

That's what I was thinking, as well.
Lol, it doesn't say to remove the negative cable, but it came to mind

Another question..

What's with the front license plate law in Texas?
Are we allowed to drive around without the front license plate?

I never used to disconnect it unless I was working on something in the charging system. Then, when I was installing my headers I bumped the post on my alternator with a socket wrench and in addition to making a huge spark, blew a $70 fuse panel I never knew existed (on the positive battery terminal.

Now I unplug the battery for everything except oil changes and wheel/brake stuff.

Wow, that must've been scary

Sweet, I just want to remove it.. every time I look at it, it annoys me.

Ya I know when I bought my fx they said that they were getting it cleaned up and getting ready to drill holes in the bumper for the front plates and I was like NO! I don't want that. Lol

I have a 2011 FX35. I'm thinking of tinting the front windows to match the rear. What is the closest % that would match the factory tint?

Secondly, Howe do the guys who have just 35% up front like it? Can you post s good pic?

Either 15% or 20%. If you have a light colored interior, probably 15%, with a black colored interior 20% should do the trick.

do 15% and get the lifetime warranty film. You'll match up perfect.

Anyone know if there is any cons to shortening the rear lug nut studs? Not the studs on the spacers but the actual studs on the car.

The con is having to remove and reinstall them, but provided you still have full engagement of the nut and you cut the studs cleanly, its not a safety issue.

if you're only looking to take a little off each one, thread a nut onto the stud, then grind the end of the stud to shorten it a bit, clean up the thread ends with a file or whatever if necessary, then thread the nut back off to chase the threads

you can do this safely with just doing the very end nub, but once you start getting into removing thread then as tim says be very sure about your thread engagement, we don't have excess to begin with there, if you're not really sure what your doing you could wind up making yours an ejecting wheel version which prolly isn't such a good thing...

does anyone know the color code for the orange color on the gtr calipers

Let me take my private helicopter to my private 12 story garage and check to see if it's listed on the door of one of my dozens of R35's....oh wait...you mean in real life? Nevermind.

Come on, man. We all know your garage is only 9 floors.
