I saw the comparison pics and it just hit me that the prerecall lenses are clear in the first place (a 9 out of 10 on the "clearness" scale) and one doesn't need to replace them unless they want a 10. The post recall lenses are significantly cloudy (like mine) and NEED to be replaced if you want a better output/cutoff. So to sum it up, visibly cloudy = TSXR swap needed. If you can't tell wether they're cloudy or clear, its likely they're clear prerecall lenses and can be swapped to FXR to get even clearer. Right?

Hey guys Ive been thinking of changing the stock exhaust on my FX35 and was wondering if anyone that has done this can feel any difference with the FX? Are their any noticeable gains how much better will it sound and is it just plain worth the time and effort??? Ive been looking at the Invidia cat back exhaust system.

Has anybody done it.....have you looked on the site at all buddy? haha

Yes, there are many options for exhausts....look around in the exhaust section of the forum

Gains are meh even with a tune, its mostly just for sound

Yeah I noticed that quiet a few people did it and thats why I asked if anyone that has done this can feel any difference with the FX? So basically your saying dont bother with it cuz its only gonna upgrade my sound and not really any performance?
 
Random question on towing:

Might be roadtripping to help my brother move from Wisconsin to New York (900 miles). We'll be driving his 2010 Toyota Highlander with a medium 5x8 sized (1200 lb) U-Haul trailer.

U-Haul recommends not going into overdrive as they said it could cause unecessary stress on the transmission? Does that mean instead of staying in 5th gear on the highway to use 4th? or will it be safe to use 5th? Keep in mind this is on a Highlander and not the FX35...

definitely 4th gear would be much better, revs up better for changing lanes, also you need to fing out the gear ratio and stuff
 
Pat, If the road is good and flat and the car does not keep going up and down from gear to gear itself, I would use 5th, but if it is working in 5th gear , I would drop it in 4th and keep it there.
 
Question about traffic tickets.

So i got an equipment violation for tints in NYC, and couldn't get it dismissed via mail. However, the tints are actually off the car so i would like to get the ticket reduced, the problem is that i'm not in NYC right now but rather in upstate New York. I was wondering if i had to go back to NYC to see the judge or can i see the local traffic court instead?

Seems to me you could get a local/state police in the area to sign it off or something? Just depends how willing they are to work with you I guess.

Would suck if you had to pay the ticket and lost the tints.
 
I'm certainly not a legal expert, but I think it is possible to have a representative appear in your absence to plead your case... ?

100% can do this. If you don't have anybody there, you can hire a lawyer in that area to represent you...isn't very expensive as you may think. I've done it before.
 
^ i always take my tickets too my attorney, most you'll pay is 500, usually when your there major customer 300-350 per ticket
