Thank You very much. After 30 years in a Ford Explorers, I have finding something new and exciting about my FX35 almost everyday.
 
I finally did my transmission cooler and I tjink I added too much tranny fluid. Will it cause any issues? I think i added 1/4 quart too much
 
Just making sure, but the front wheel bearing/hub for an awd fits the Rwd FX35? I think this has been verified.... But want to be sure again...thanks

Probably not, how much over the line is 1/4 quart? When did you measure it? If you did it right after filling, it may be that it hasn't flowed through the whole system yet. I drove mine around a bit and the levels dropped after I checked again. But 1/4 quart isn't an issue. Just see if it's foaming after driving, that's usually the symptom of overfilling. If it's not doing that, you should be fine.

well its about 1/2 inch above the max fill line. ive been driving it and it seems fine. i checked it after a quick lap around the block. gonna check when i got some time
 
Just wondering if anyone near me has a set of factory 20" chrome rims in near mint condition with tires year 2003-2005 that they might be thinking of getting rid of? If so I might have some interest, maybe even a trade???

Calling the wheels gurus in iS: Can I fit tire specs 245/45/R20 on a stock wheel with 20 x 7.5 with 50mm offset on my 2013 Nissan PF? I plan to go with either the Continental ExtremeContact DWS ultra high performance all seasons or Yokohama Parada spec-x. If it fits, will there be a noticeable bulge on the sidewalls?

The Nissan PF Stock OEM tires are Toyo Proxes A20, 235/55/r20.
 
if we (current fx owners) fit a 265-285 tire on an 8 inch wheel then i think 245 on 7.5 wont make much of a difference. If you go with yoko you will have a rounder and narrower thread design tire, wont look so much different than 235. The contis on the other hand have a wider design (square sidewalls). If you put 245s they will look like 255s or 265s.
 
Thanks a bunch Dracula. Yeah I noticed the difference on profile between the two. I am running Yokos Parada on my front and Conti DWS on my rears in my '07 FX35, on staggered set up. The reason I wanted to go 245 on my PF is because there's very limited tire options on the 235. I also find the 235 too narrow for a large SUV. The new design PF is larger than its predecessor and 235 looks too tiny IMO.

Quick question does anyone know how to reset a check engine light on a 2010 Mercedes Benz ML350 bluetec? Its my wives suv after she got in an accident it was sitting in the body shop for like two weeks so i don't know if thats the issue. A friend ran a diagnostic and told us that it was the 02 sensor. I just don't feel like going to mercedes to have them scan it and reset it in 5 minutes and charge me close to $200.

Switch ignition on and immediately press the button to the bottom left of the speedo (trip reset type button) TWICE
Switch Ignition off
Press and hold same button while switching ignition on.
After 10 seconds a new interval will display followed by a beep.
Release the button and switch ignition off.
All done.

I'm looking for advice on a helmet for a motorcycle. I am looking into taking a course in July and want my own helmet to have my own. I plan on having it for a long time so not looking 500+ but will spend what I need to. I am looking sports bike direction. Can someone help lean me to maybe like five or so helmets to choose from. Looking online at reviews just makes the list longer and longer

There sure are a lot of options to choose from and directions to go. First off, go full face and only consider well rated models. Hopefully there are retailers around you with a wide selection that you can try on. You will have ti whittle down your options and then maybe buy online. Different brands will fit a little differently so make sure you know what to expect with each brand and size. Also look for better padding that is more comfortable and a lot of vents.
Then you get into style and looks. Since you're just getting into it, I would not focus on a very specific color, but rather get graphics of conservative neutral colors so if you ride a variety of bikes and styles, the same helmet wouldn't look out of place.
I prefer a clear visor for best visibility and when you're trying them on don't forget to check peripheral vision - very important.
 
I looked at Shoei, scorpion, icon and shark. From what I read Shoei would be the most popular and recommended? Now based on those brands are there specific ones recommended or brands I should also be looking at? I would probably just get a solid (matte or black) or CF design if available.

I am having a difficult time finding places around Chicagoland area that will have a wide variety I can try on in store? If anyone has places they know of it would help

That being said I will be going to a Harley Davidson class as I know a friends dad who works there and assume they will teach it right. I was also looking at inexpensive gloves and boots to have long term but main focus is getting the correct helmet. Thanks pork and any additional info would be helpful

Yes, of those Shoei would be the most popular and prestigious. Actually, Shoei and Arai are probably the 2 top notorious. I've always been partial towards Arai for no real specific reason at all - just me. All brands will have their various models with high end and low end design/quality/pricing.
In my sportbike helmets, I have both Arai and Scorpion. I'm not exactly sure how they compare with technical and crash reviews, but the Arai brand wins with public opinion. For whatever reason, I like my Scorpion better than my Arai. I don't know why, maybe because I've had it longer, but I guess it feels more like home to me.
I do like the CF helmets. They look good. If you're thinking of a simple design, you can also vinyl wrap to change it up. But always plan on making stripes over seam lines. The contour of a helmet is a bitch to wrap so most will make a seam line in the center, front to back, and cover it with another strip to make a racing stripe.

Thanks pork! Yea I was really looking at the scorpion exos. Several models hard to tell if the extra $$ is worth it for them again stuff I need to research. Just reassuring to hear and know someone with the brand who likes it. It does also seem like the consensus for most is that FIT trumps brands. Like don't need to spend 600 if one that is 200 fits perfectly for your head.

I like the icon contra jacket? Not sure if there are "bad" jackets like there may be for boots and such. Again lot to absorb but looking to get those first

Style and safety aside, you need to try on different helmets to see which one fits your head shape the best. Each manufacturer has different shell shapes to cater to different types of heads. A top of the line $800+ helmet is useless if it doesn't fit well and you end up hating it. Try a few dealers to see what they carry. Dainese/Triumph dealers tend to carry multiple models of Shoei/Arai. Look for smaller local shops to try on the other brands if you can as well. When looking at gloves, the single most important protective element is a palm slider. This will keep your hand from catching and twisting during a crash.

I would definitely recommend a MSF course to get the feel of riding.
