=))))))))) loooool problem fixed.... Tire rotation, balance and everything is back to normal....

So yesterday I tried something different to see if I could fix the shake I get when Im between 60 and 80mph I noticed that it began doing this after I installed the 25mm spacers on all four corners. The spacers made the tires poke out just a little bit in the rear and figured I would see how it would look and drive if I took them off but left the spacers in the front on. Once I took the rear spacers off both the front and back wheels looked even and of course this eliminated the wheel poke in the rear. So I took it on I-84 for a drive and low and behold the steering wheel shake was also gone! So now I have 25mm spacers in the front and none in the rear and the car drives excellent and I no longer have the steering wheel shake. Its kind of wierd but it worked :1confused:

My steering wheel was going crazy after I put 27mm spacers in the back and 25mm in the front at about 45mph to 80mph. The problem was the spacers were not put on (maybe the wheels too) in a star pattern. I was too lazy to install them myself so I took them to a shop to put on the spacers but ended up taking off the wheels and spacers and putting them back on myself in a star pattern and the shake was gone. It's obvious crap but it helped me out.

Yeah I took off the 25mm spacers from the rear and ordered 20mm to put back on in the rear and left 25mm up front. The spacers I have are hub centric.

I did this to my fx45 and had great results, Less then 1/4 turn was enough to acheive perfect balance. Remember to adjust in small increments.

Cheers!

I realized that when doing this the bolts are not as tight
So i had the urge to tighten it like any other bolt
Can someone else confirm this?

^ This bolt should not be tighten down like other bolt. Just make a mark or make a mental note of the position of the bolt, turn it less then a 1/4 turn should be enough. If the steering wheel feel too tight, back it up a little.

what if tightening does not make a difference anymore, or simply does not help

all of that are in good shape, i tighten the bolt then loosen 1/2 turn, doesnt make a difference (my steering wheel shakes like crazy and i have a constant wobble)

Swap the front wheels & tires with the rear? Do you have another set to play swap into to see if it the wheels & tires and not the car? Have a local meet and swap wheels & tires with another car.

i have swapped from rear to front, the problem persists. Sometimes the car is acting normal, car feels firm then all if a sudden the car feels loose, sways and stuff. I was thinking about replacing my rack and pinion, but i have a feeling my inner tie rods might be worn, even though their is no play.

This characteristic happen all the time? If it is, I have a feeling your power steering pump may be the problem. Have you try to change the power steering fluid?

oh really, i havent touched my fluid since the day i bought it and im hitting almost 100k. Another mistake that i made 6 months ago i didnt secure the rack boot correctly, since that time the rack boot moved around and i think water got into my rack, now i hear water sounds coming from the rack everytime i move the steering wheel.

left side rack boot

I can't imagine how water can get into the rack. If it does, you would see water on top of the fluid (the two don't mix) in the power steering reservior as it will recirculate back into the reservior. I guess would be the water may trap in the boot. If you use zip tie to tie down the boot, open it up and see. As for the power steering fluid, cheap enough to change out before dive in on the change out the rack!
