Secondary Engine Frame Brace

If you put it like that we can also say they are similar with all other brands.... in stead of only producing upper...lower and rear strutbars what competitive companies do they also created tie bar and cross member brace wich they offer for many other brands.....wrx....golf....evo....hell they even made one for my wifes daihatsu (scion Bb) i have those in my hands on a daily basis....yes all look the same and mounting points are different but i think that is just because they figure out something works and stick with it on each of there application. That we might need more to strengthen up our body as much as a G/Z is bacause of the body type.... not due to the material wich is forged also.

Summit and GT-Spec just took the exact bars from the G35/350z and just modified them to work with the FX chassis. My point is that I don't think they did very much further research to see if there are other places on the FX which might benefit from more bracing.

I don't know why you are getting so defensive, we're not hating on Gt-spec or summit, I have their strut bar, and I am very happy with the product and their support of the platform.

Again the 350z and G35 have curb weights which are like 500lbs lighter than the RWD FX, add on the weight of an AWD FX and you start to understand that obviously the FX would require much more bracing that those vehicles, especially since the car sits way higher in the air, and much more weight is up high in the vehicle. Also the front suspension design on the front of the FX is very different from the G35's, and that makes it very prone to side to side movement in corners.

I have no doubt in my mind that this bar would help, how much I don't know yet, I dont have the bar yet, the only one who has it is DragonH. I'll get him in here to let us know.

My bad.....was early in the morning and maybe somewhat fanatic LOL. No disrespect guys.....you know me..... just a little strong debat [emoji1]

With 6 different bars available for the FX i wonder what else they could have made outter the one you are offering now.
I do have to say the mounting location is hollow ( is that the right word.....empty inside) and wonder if it can strengthen enough there.

Also what is your take/idea on the look of the center bar and my suggestions on it meme ??

Major job, but I also see an upper rear strut bar being useful if you don't need a trunk. There's more flex back there at this point in my bars. So far I'm feeling pretty balanced. Have to say that I felt every bar that's put on there although I installed in groups. Frnt strut, 2 rear, front and ladder, and then mid. The bracing changed the tight condition an fx has out of box. It's a really good street setup

Looks cool but my thing is this... you have to remove it every time you go to do work on the FX even more so looks like you would have to remove it when ever you go to remove the engine cover.

Hmm, not sure that's really a valid disadvantage. How often do you remove your engine cover? I've had my FX50 for 5 years and I've never needed to remove mine and if I did it wouldn't be that difficult.

It just gets in the way of the engine covers removal when needed which means extra work also as stated earlier by someone else, the brace ties to a hollow/thin part of the fx so whats the advantage to having it besides it looking cool? Thats my question. I aready have all the gt spec braces and stillen stb so besides this new brace looking good what are the added advantages to adding it to my fx?

It's attached to the forward most points on the upper end of the structural spine of the vehicle. The two points it ties to are not "hollow/thin", they form a legitimate portion of the the front frame.

Linking the rear of the vehicle at the C-pillar would undoubtedly be the biggest and best bracing option, Unfortunately it would involve a lot of work, and cutting up the interior of your car, that's why it hasn't been done.

Maybe at the point were the tonno cover bucket mounts. Meaning you wil have to delete the tonno cover that is.....

I think I'm good with the stillen stb and gt spec lower engine tie brace keeping my front end nice and tight as is but to each his own [emoji106]

hi guys

Hi guys, what meme405 has been explaining is totally correct....Like meme405 said..i am the only person who has this brace on an FX and i have noticed a big difference with front handling especially when flying round bends...The strut bar does a great job but with this front brace, the car feels much more stronger...i dont have the lower engine tie brace or the four point ladder brace...only rear brace so if u already have the front lower engine tie brace than the feel will be even better with both.....Also a member was concerned about having to keep taking off his engine cover but how often do u do that.....The only slight issue is that the bar fits just over the radiator coolant bottle so if u want to top up coolant, you will have to use a funnel but no real biggie and again how often do you top up your coolant....Apart from its special looks, it really stiffens up the front...i am supercharged and running 12psi boost with my new water injection kit, custom cog pulley and timing belt set up and feel much more from the secondary brace when hitting high speed and cornering....An excellent custom made piece which for sure is functional and useful...You will appreciate even more when you own one...Group buy will be coming up shortly if members want this rare/custom brace.....Tks all..Dragonh

Sounds ok but not completely sold on it. Might be buying another car as well. Something pretty awesome. [emoji39]

So is there a way to buy this if there is no "Group Buy"?

I wonder if the gt-spec front lower engine tie brace would provide more stiffening as now you have an upper strut brace and a lower brace working in tandem, instead of two braces high on the frame.

Can't speak for the 1st gen but on my 2nd gen 50 I had the upper GT Spec engine brace installed for awhile before I had the lower ladder brace installed. I felt a small difference with the upper brace but with the lower ladder brace installed also......... wow. I feel like the lower ladder brace took away from some of the luxury of the car because it stiffened my ride up that much. I guess some would argue that's the point. Most people say you don't really notice a difference but I noticed it instantly and I love it.

Hi All,
Is anyone still interested in this bar? Spoke with DragonH and think I will be getting one through him. I really believe this will make a difference
esp in tandem with a STB. Just gauging if anyone is still interested....pricing is as expected plus shipping.

Hi, everyone....As i might have mentioned...my friend will custom make a limited # of secondary engine braces...The main strut will also be custom made so if anyone wants both to match then that would look even better...Shipping via EMS with tracking takes approx 5 to 7 days and will cost approx $70 for 1 strut and approx $90 for both struts sent to the USA....Braces will be custom made to order and will take approx 1 month..After which, the braces will be pro packed and shipped out...We also have the main engine brace for 09+ fx35/45 but NO secondary engine brace ATM....finally, if anyone wants the rear lower tie braces which was custom made to fit the 03 to 08 FX35...for those who r still running the oem exhaust or invidia systems..its similar to the gtspec but has been custom made on the left side to ride higher so members who r running the oem exhaust and r lowered..You dont have to worry about scraping it as the angle is higher than the gtspec tie brace...Free free to ask if u have any questions...Best regards Sohail..aka Dragonh

BTW...ordered one of these from DragonH....should have it in about a month or so. I will report back and post pics once installed.
I think 415cpa ordered both braces as well...
