I don't know any specifics but check my350z.com and I'm sure there's lots on there about how people have had issues. Although your friend had no problems, so who knows.

Nope going with the Garret GT35R .82 same as jumbo has. I remember Rookie telling me something about the downpipe being a bit narrow. I have messured it and it is....2.75" going towards 3" .
I gues my main concern would be the 2.5" single HKS Legamax. But had the same discussion with a friend about the catalystic downpipe i bought from TN. We need that here for our yearly check up.
And off course without is better.....but in the end i would probably aren't able to push the engine to any limits due to the limitation of the tranny anyways like jumbo has.

I'm doing my prject together with a buddy of mine with a 350Z. He is building an engine with the Greddy TT kit. Here is a pic:

My clients Z drove great on indeed no issues.....or maybe he didn't notice them :wink:

I want to say the TN turbo had oil starvation problems, but I'm not sure. I'll look for this one thread in a little bit.

Perfect thanks....i am not a member on any of those other Z forums. Gues it would help if i did sometimes. But already have very ittle time to keep up with the FX onces...:err:

Thanks man....i'll deff look into it. The AC i heared about about it, and already are looking into making a custom ac line out of Stainless as well.Talked to some experts already but can't really do anything untill the engine isin and we see how we have to make it.
As for the support goes....i was planning on making an additional suppor for the Turbo but was advised against it as it might get to ridged and brake of anyways.
Honestly not much going back for me now.....so we just have to hope and see how it all holds.

The good thing is that it sounds like you won't skimp on the job. Just make sure the install is done well, and the tune is sound. Hopefully it will work out well.
 
awesome ray, best of luck with everything... I see you said your getting the quaife dif... I've been researching difs myself & the quaife dif is a good dif but it also suffers from the chatter problems that it seems they all do to a certain extent... you might want to look into the os giken dif, I think it's the quietest of them all, got great reviews & is only a little bit more $$ it's what I plan on running when I get to the point of doing the dif.

and bro, if you need anything else I can help you with from stateside lmk...
 
Ray! So glad to see this thread finally get started. I'm also glad I had the chance to see the FX and the engine bay in person - before all this gear is installed! I just hope I get to see it in person when it's all finished. We'll just have to plan on that. And yeah - I'm finally thinking SEMA is going to happen for me this year.

Love the start - the colors, the parts, the plan... can't wait to see all of your updates and I have already subscribed!

One thing - my turbo was changed to the 1.06 A/R exhaust housing. We did not notice an improvement on the dyno, so staying with .82 is fine.

Thanks for the props bro - totally glad to share the tons of information I have learned over the last three years on all things FX.

So finally the Haltech came in last week. Unfortunalty the shipment missed the additional Osiris Tuner Cable for tuning of the OEM ECU.

Further me and my buddy mounted the fuel rail and the Kintix plenum intake. AAM made the return line quit narrow. you do not have rom to route it the way you like it....try it and you will deff be too short in length we found out :err:
Further i had some issue with the pathfinder tube connecting to the waterpipe that runs toworths the front.I didn't had the connector hose but also needed to cut of a piece as it was to long. Cut it off and sleeved the hose so it would still have grip when tightning the hoseclamps.
Also mounted the OEM header and heat shield.........just another step forward :tup:

Yeah very happy with it as well bud...!! And the BS will come i'm sure.....we'll see eachother in vegas then. I requested a "guys night out" at my GF and got an Ok. Now i only need to arrange that guilt free pass :wink (2):

Haltech will be fine.....i even read the up-rev tuner function would be fine the other way around as well.....hmmm well.....got them both now :wub:
Wanted to have that tranny function as you have as well......Now just hoping the guys here know how to work with it :err:
 
There's more than one Ray on the boards. :eek.: Looks like a nice build. I've built a
few GM V-6's with various power adders and they are a blast to drive. Looks like yours is going to be killer. :tup: I know guys with 500+ HP V-6's that are streetable and still get decent mileage. I also noticed you talking about your downpipe. We discovered that downpipes can be a choking point if not sized properly for the application. Bigger is better but too big can still hurt. :wink:

But anyways good luck and have fun with that monster build. Looks incredible and hope it performs even better. Dyno numbers would be great when done. :biggrin:
