I got the white decals. It says retrofitsource with a little lightning bolt warning/electrical symbol.

john did you get stickers with the bulbs!! im jealous!

And fwiw.. infiniti projectors.. imo not as clear as the lexus ones. My sisters rx350 has a sick color blue/purply colored projector on stock 4300 hids. It looks amazing from far away and turns more whitish as you get closer

Sorry for my probably stupid question, but I went to the retrofit website and saw there are 2 types of morimoto D2S bulbs, they are w35 and w50. Which one did you guys get. Anybody knows the difference ?

So I bought a pair of 6000K Morimoto D2S bulbs from TheRetroFitSource.com. Received them the other day and had them installed. First off let me say the physical part of the bulb is built good right up on par with Phillips, but the color sucks. 6000K is advertised to have a pure white output with a slight tinge of blue to it. But my bulbs don't have that slight tinge at all. Their just pure white and thats it. Maybe a slight tinge of yellow to them actually. No blue at all. Actually they look somewhat similar to stock 4300K. Not satisfied with this purchase considering I spent $50 on these bulbs just for them to look a little better than stock.

I got 6000K in my fogs and the headlights don't match the fogs. I had to go down to 5000K on the fogs to get the fogs to match the headlights.

I contacted TheRetroFitSource and they still have not replied back to my email I sent them on this problem yesterday. Quality is good but color sucks ass.

that is their bulbs problems... every manufactures when they make out the bulbs, they do as their own standards... i dont know why your 6k bulbs are so pure white... my VVME hid 6k (vvme.com) in my headlights and 5k for fog lights match well ... 6k is very bright with a little blue shade on side....

BTW, 50 bucks for two bulbs are a little expensive ......bude...

just stick with D2s 35w stock bulbs... 55w can wash out your bulbs color and might melt your housings even though they are brighter than 35w hids

You can get them for 30 bucks. I dunno what hid bulbs you get cheaper then that.

Yeah, I know that every manufacturer has their standards lol. We've already discussed this earlier in my thread. Every bulb manufacturer has their own standard of what color 6000K should be. Morimoto in my opinion makes the best bulbs by far. Not including Phillips and GE D2S bulbs which are good too.

And $50 for bulbs is not expensive at all. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Still doesn't look like a perfect match :(

i'm a little concern now with my morimoto, i like the blueish look.

What do you mean?

The 6000K Morimoto's match the foglights perfectly. It's probably the way my camera is. And you got to remember that projectors cast the light out differently than the reflector foglights. Depending on what position your looking at them, depends on what color they look like.

Remember if you want them more blue, your going to sacrifice a lot of your light output, which is never really a good idea :)

If your wanting the blueish look, then Morimoto's are not for you. Their just pure white with a slight tinge of blue to them. If they were more blue than what they are, it would begin to look ricey.

^^ i hope you are right. I've always had the cheaper "ricey" hid bulbs while they look nice and blue they burnt out very quickly and i have to struggle to see at night.

I'm satisfy with the morimoto light output but right now its at that yucky yellow stage. I hope i will be more satisfy when it color shift.

Your fogs are ddm right? did they have to color shift as well?

How long have you been running the Morimoto's so far? It takes a good 20-40 hours to get them to colorshift to their proper color. Mine were just like yours when I bought them, but look even better now!

Those cheap garbage 6000k bulbs like eBay or whatever always look more blue cause their idea of how 6000k should look is wrong. Actually true high end 6000k bulbs like the Morimoto or Phillips bulbs are what 6000k should really look like, just pure white with a tinge of blue.

My foglights is the 6000k DDM Tuning HID kit. They have colorshifted too, but only a little.

Yea i just installed it last night. I have drove a totally of 10 mins with the lights on lol. I'm just being impatient.

I'm still debating on whether to do 3000k or 6000k fogs light. I had the 3000k halogen in there before but took it out cause it looks too stockish. I'm thinking maybe it will look alot nicer with hid

Don't do 3000K fogs! That will look ricey on our rides. I think it's too JDM for our rides:wink (2):

Here's some photo's from this morning. There's a horrible overcast outside right now, making it perfect for some lighting photo's:

And an idea of what it looks like with bi-xenon high beams on:

You can tell the bulbs have stopped color shifting. That's the final color output of them.

And yes, I no longer have my gloss black grill:tongue (2):
