Morimoto bulbs

So I bought a pair of 6000K Morimoto D2S bulbs from TheRetroFitSource.com. Received them the other day and had them installed. First off let me say the physical part of the bulb is built good right up on par with Phillips, but the color sucks. 6000K is advertised to have a pure white output with a slight tinge of blue to it. But my bulbs don't have that slight tinge at all. Their just pure white and thats it. Maybe a slight tinge of yellow to them actually. No blue at all. Actually they look somewhat similar to stock 4300K. Not satisfied with this purchase considering I spent $50 on these bulbs just for them to look a little better than stock.

I got 6000K in my fogs and the headlights don't match the fogs. I had to go down to 5000K on the fogs to get the fogs to match the headlights.

I contacted TheRetroFitSource and they still have not replied back to my email I sent them on this problem yesterday. Quality is good but color sucks ass.

Did you buy the 35W or 50W bulbs?
 
Gotta love the sweet music to go along with the video. Think ill put my order in for the morimotos, got me convinced. For some reason one of my ddms in my fog lights didn't start up yesterday when I went to warm up my car. But when I drove down the road for a mile and turned them back on they both lit up. Kinda weird .. explains how cheap they are and you get what you pay for. I'm happy with them besides that. I'll post pics once I install the morimotos. Good thread. Lots of info !

Sounds like a ballast problem. Just contact them, and they'll send you a new one. Lifetime warranty FTW!:biggrin:
 
Just wanted to let you guys know I'm still using these bulbs and love them!
 
--^ same here. Mine finally got to color-shift to more of a white color with a sliiiighhhtt)) tinge of blue, i personally think they match my 6k DDM fog lights to near perfect. Anyways I give the Morimotos a big :tup: big difference in looks and visibility with them !
 
Plus they don't look cheap like shitty eBay bulbs lol. Quality is definitely on par with Phillips bulbs.
 
where is a good place to purchase morimoto bulbs? i just need to purchase some from a place that wont sell me crappy fake ones that die quick
