Did you notice any hot spots on your morimoto bulbs or is the onground still OEM smooth?

Yup it's still as precise as OEM, if not better. IMO 6000K lights up the road better compared to OEM 4300K. Even though technically you loose 200 lumens when going from 4300K to 6000K. It seems that the pure white color from 6000K shows up alot better on the road compared to OEM. I constantly travel back and forth from here in NY to Pennsylvania and the roads on i-80 are horrible because none of them are lit up at night time. Thankfully the headlights are bright as hell lol.:tup:

Only cheap garbage bulbs like the stuff off of eBay will give you hotspots of light because they don't have those metal retaining clamps attached to the light capsule on the bulb like higher end bulbs from Morimoto and Phillips do to insure that the beam pattern will be projected precisely.

Strange. One of my bulbs is smooth as eggs (passenger), but the passenger isn't.. it's seated flush on the bulb pin, but I guess i'll have to swap or check the capsule for placement. Maybe i'll swap it to see if the hotspot replicates on the other side.

Never heard of this. :eek.:

Try switching the bulbs around to see if the same problem replicates on the other side. The bulb may also not be seated properly inside the retaining clips for the projector. If it's the bulb, just contact TheRetroFitSource. They'll give you a new one for sure!

Just made an offer to the ebay seller of 30 bucks. He wants a buy it now for 50. I went through his feedback in search of the lowest best offer submitted. Found someone who offered 30 bucks and he accepted his offer. :wink (2):

Well he just accepted. 39 bucks shipped.

By the way it's the same place you guys got the bulbs from. TheRetroFitSource.

Yeah, they definately have color changed alot since the two months they have been inside the car. I think they've been running for a total of 100 hours already, so they definately color shifted to more of a pure white with a tinge of blue to them right now. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow of the way they look now. Their just the right color I was aiming for. No yellow just pure white with some blue to it.

Oh by the way, they say you lose some light output when switching from 4300K stock to 6000K, but in reality when you look at it you don't. Like I said before, I think 6000K lights up the road a lot better compared to the stock 4300K. The reason why is pure white shows up a lot better on the road than that ugly yellow crap:tup:

Buy the Morimoto bulbs! You won't regret it:wink:

Is it possible Infiniti changed the bulbs on th 010 model ? My oem look blue-ish not like the ones you posted off your car ? Or are my eyes deceiving me ? How much better are these bulbs than stock oem ? Worth the $100+ ?

I doubt the change for 2010. Its probably the exact same D2S bulbs used by many manufacturers. There are several reasons why the colors can look different. It can be the quality or opacity of the actual lenses on the projector. Or it can be that the bulbs have color shifted as well. I like the bulbs better than stock oem ones, but you have to remember they are different ratings. 4300K OEM vs. 6000K morimotos that we all have. They are about $50 for the pair, not sure where you got the $100+ from.

I think the $100+ was for the Philips , so for $50 I guess it might be worth a try. Do they look like the BMW bulbs at night ?

Yes, Philips ones are $100+ you're right. Well I don't drive very often at night and my bulbs are just starting to color shift...I hope. I think they look really good as of this morning. I know exactly what look you are going for, because that's what I want too. Stock BMW, Audi, Acura's OEM bulbs look really good from a distance. But if you look at the reflection on the ground, they're yellowish in color, compared to our 6Ks. You have to remember its the quality and differences with the actual projector lenses in our cars. There is another thread about this where the Infiniti lens quality isn't as good/clear as the other makes. It has something to do with the recall of the headlights a few years ago. But overall, I am very happy with the quality and the output of the lights and I would say it does give off the quality look that you're going for.

I think they look better than BMW HID's.

And yes your headlights are the same on your 2010 model lol. Nothing really changed for 2010. Infiniti has been using Phillips 4300K as stock ever since there cars were introduced with HID's. All manufacturer's use 4300K and nothing else. The reason yours probably look like pure white is cause of the way your looking at the projectors. The cool thing about projectors is that they cast a prism like effect thus making it look like all different kinds of colors like white, blue, purple, yellow, etc. Mine does the same just like all other projectors.

Just get the Moriomoto 6000K bulbs!! You won't regret it brotha =]

Last time I heard, Infiniti had some of the best projectors out there. Infiniti projectors cast some pretty sharp cut off lines.

john did you get stickers with the bulbs!! im jealous!

And fwiw.. infiniti projectors.. imo not as clear as the lexus ones. My sisters rx350 has a sick color blue/purply colored projector on stock 4300 hids. It looks amazing from far away and turns more whitish as you get closer

Yeah their not as clear, but the Infiniti cut off line is really sharp and precise compared to other car manufacturer's.
