Maintainence for FX35 2006

When I let the engine idle the transmission oil seem to be at the full level but when I shut it down it was over the "H".

full means overfill. drain some oil for this you will have to turn the engine on, let the engine cool then measure. this time the oil should be somewhere in the middle. you've put a little too much I believe. This time you will drain the oil via the skinny hose connected to the radiator...

I was only using ~3.6 to 3.7 quarts after draining out the transmission pan. Do you think that's too much?? I'm not evening putting all 4 quarts in the charging pipe.

Tranny Fluid Levels

Because I hate trying to get the proper level in the tranny I make sure that the level is proper to begin with and then I can just pour the drained fluid into an empty gallon container and gauge what I need to put back in from how much has drained out. I've drained the trans 2 times now and find that I've drained just under a gallon each time. This is letting the trans drain while I find something else to do for an hour or so. And don't forget a fresh gasket for the drain plug, torque to 25 ft. lbs. and happy motoring.

are you sure you drained out all the tranny oil?
3.6 qt sounds a lot less. let the oil cool off and measure the level
if it is anywhere close to the middle of xxxxxxxxxxx then you're good.
take a short drive and if you have a hard time shifting or if the car jerks then
it means the oil is low and you need to add some more.

I only drained out the transmission oil pan and refilled with 3.6 quarts. I thought on the service manual that i saw recommend to let the engine idling to check the tranny fluid.

Hey guys, Looking to do this svc to my veh personally, is there a DIY? my 05FX is out of warranty so I don't think there is any point of doing this at the dealership. I also had a question as to how hard it would be to either clean or change the fuel injectors. - thanks!
