Lug Nut Help! GTR rims

thanks guys for the helpful info and pics. was wondering is there a length i need? open or closed?

i was looking at these 61621 http://www.gorilla-auto.com/gorilla-guard-locks

I think what I read on the GTR boards was get long length for the rear wheels and the shorter length for the front wheels. This is simply to make it easier to get a tool on the rears because they are so deep. With the shorts there is the possibility of scratching the rims.

Open or closed is a matter of preference. Depends which one you like the look of more.

Either of those should work. Based upon your selections you probably know this, but make sure it's 12x1.25

One nice thing about open ended is that it will always work no matter how long the stud is. May never come up for you, but if you have longer studs for spacers and then take the spacers off but don't swap studs then the open ended will still fit, where a closed end might not.

thanks for clearing that up a bit. just so im on the same page as everyone,
the gtr uses "acorn/ tapered seat"?
2nd gen would be considered the "mag seat w/ washer" type?
1st gen uses "ball seat" type?

1st gen uses the tapered/acorn style too

Honda is the only company I can think of that used the ball seat ,I'm sure others do too

The mag (2nd gen) lugs would thread on but I would not trust them to seat properly.
If you look at a wheel that uses these lugs they have a "seat" to mate too

I think they washer lugs might not even fit in the hole. They are quite a bit bigger than the correct lugs.

With the washer lugs the large diameter shank is supposed to fit in the hole with a fairly good fit and the washer applies pressure on the face of the wheel.
from what you say Stu, it probably wouldn't do this.
Thanks for clarifying this.

The hole could be bigger, that's probably how a few guys have destroyed wheels by using the wrong lugs

One guy I can think of on IS wrecked a FX50 wheel

My mistake as well. For some reason, since Nissan basically switched all their other cars to the new style, I thought the GTR did as well.
Holy cow, I keep getting told opposite answers.
I believe you Jeff, since you work at Infiniti/Nissan.
Thanks so much for straightening this out.
I better delete my above posts.

That's why I love this site, there is always lots of help from lots of knowledgeable people.
