Well maybe re-Dynamatting was a little ambitious. After getting into it today I decided to just clean and swap. I need to get some custom interior work done - the dash and driver's seat are still Willow. My black seat back was sacrificed in the airbag deployment. I was wondering if I could actually use the bottom of the black seat and just the willow seat back. No rush to figure it out.
There was a lot of cleaning and vacuuming. Pretty sure I vacuumed the entire interior four times. Before and after removing and installing.

Most of the Willow interior is out and a couple black door panels are in...
Starting on the door panels. Don't worry - the red trim has now been removed entirely...
Cabin swap complete - willow driver's seat is all that remains.
Shifter knob is getting a serious cleaning during this photo. It's installed now.
Swapped most of the trunk but not all. Just ran out of steam for the day. Got my audio installed but not wired up yet. I sort of like the color combination back there right now but I still plan on swapping in the black hatch trim and the black wheel well panels.
The trunk and cabin are nicely separated when it comes to laying down Dynamat. Do do it right in the cabin I'm going to have to remove the seats, center console and carpet again but I'm pretty sure I can knock that out in about an hour. Doing the Dynamat in the cabin will take a whole weekend so I'll save it for another time. The trunk will take a day and I was thinking I'll probably get to that as I wire the rear audio gear.
Still need to make another trip back to big red for a pretty decent list of parts. The rear hatch trim and the bottom of the driver's seat are sitting in there for storage... I was thinking I would take out all the speakers, door lock and window actuators. I might as well grab all the wiring for the audio since it is already cut to the proper length, I'll take all the console electronics and I think the interior swap and part salvage is done.
Wheels, brakes, suspension is next on the list.

Wow brad you weren't kidding when you said you were gonna get to work lol. Sorry I wasn't able to stop by powerfab yesterday to help out, but next time you go see big red let me know and ill be there for sure to lend a hand.

i actually dont think black on beige looks bad at all.. black dash, black door panels n console.. beige seats and random trim... just my opinion tho lol.. i bet u had a grin from ear to ear doing this.. i would!
It's a deal. I still have quite a bit of work to do. As I was completing the swap I started collecting a list of parts that I want to keep as extras, plus a few peices I couldn't fit in the FX will all the other stuff. Aiming for this coming Saturday morning.
I'm motivated - I had to tell my wife to park on the street overnight and that only flies for so long before I get pressure.
I guess but the car is not mobile once dropped off. I don't really have a spot to store it while working and the engine and drivetrain & suspension need to be removed at the shop where they have a lift. Didn't make sense to tow it back and forth when I can just take what I need whenever I want.
The car didn't really feel like MINE till I did this. It was still some other dude's. Now that my interior is in it feels like home again, except with some differences.

Yeah I had fun and I agree with you about the two-tone. It's actually growing on me more and more. I like that it's different - no other FXs have this - but I still have to get the dash reupholstered (cracks in several places) and I'd like my seats to match. If I keep the Willow pillars and headliner, I could see keeping the trunk peices the same but I've always envisioned an all black interior with red stitching. We'll see I guess.

Did a few more hours of swapping after stripping out a few more parts from Big Red on Saturday.
I removed the adapter wire running from the Optima Yellow top battery to Big Red's OEM harness and the 4 AWG power and ground wires running to the trunk for the epicenter/amp/sub. I also took out the speakers in Big Red's front doors and the Strut tower brace and Rare JDM harness cover from the engine bay.
I removed the OEM battery from the silver FX, added the adapter wire to the harness and dropped in the Yellow top.
I removed the passenger side kick panel trim, front door trim, pillar trim and rear trim before running the two power wires plus the Epicenter control wire under the carpet and into the trunk.
The Epicenter, amp and sub have been fully mounted and wired up but I was not able to connect the power and ground wires to the battery because I forgot to grab the inline fuse. SO looking forward to reclaiming the sound system as I knew it.
Strut tower brace is in - that was a 3 minute install. Wonder if I'll feel it on the 18" stockers and OEM suspension?

I feel like I've asked you this before but why did you need an adapter for the Optima? Did you relocate it? Also, aren't you taking the whole motor from BR? Why just the harness cover? One last thing I missed - how many miles on Big Silver? [Nvm, I found the mileage above] Glad you're back in action. I've missed the awesome DIY posts... :thumbup:
