man, talk about having some spare parts, your going to wind up with a lot of those

good luck with the build man
Thanks Turbo. I started taking advantage of all those parts today. I spent most of the day with Big Red, removing the interior. About five hours into it, a guy shows up wanting to buy the full interior of my Silver FX! A little birdie at Powerfab told him what was going on - he used to hang here on IS - FXFireball. I told him he could have everything except the driver's seat back for a couple hundred bucks. His FX's interior is in really rough shape.
Glad you still went for the S50. We need such projects around to represent that the first model stil killing...!! Good luck with your build.......funny i started mine when you finished yours and now you start when i'm finishing mine.....letts not make this a trend buddy :D

Well we can make it a trend as long as it is not because of a LOSS of a project. New projects could always be a possibility.
SO
I kicked my own ass, working with my new FX over the last 24 hours. Yesterday the Silver FX got it's first bath and clay. I wiped down the engine bay. Pretty sure the bay had NEVER been done before. A lot better than it was but still a long way to go.
After a wash and clay, I compounded the front fenders, hood and bumper with my trusty Porter Cable dual action. That's as far as I could get yesterday but the results were night and day up close and in person. I still need to compound the rest of the car, then sealant and wax. Maybe tomorrow.
This morning, off to Powerfab where Big red is resting. I spend a solid six hours removing every bit of interior except for the dash, headliner and upper pillars (since they are Willow).
And the tear down begins:
Near the end:
All that Dynamat Labor... what a waste!!!!
Goodies...
And everything loaded up in the back of the Silver FX, me driving home!
Tomorrow is going to be another long day but I'm realizing... no rush. Since I have to remove the full interior of the Silver FX, I might as well take the time to clean and Dynamat. I have to remove the seats and console to remove the floor liner and there will never be more access then at that time.
After the interior swap is done (including the audio) I've asked Powerfab to evaluate damage to the wheels, coilovers and brakes. I'll go pick up the parts or replace whatever needs replacing before knocking out those items in my garage.
Very satisfying 24 hours with the Silver FX.
