Hey guys I hope one of yall can point me in the right directions. I had full interior led for over 2 years, all of a sudden the Peddle/Footwell lights, Map light, Vanity Mirror, Push button start lights no longer turn on. The door puddle lights and others still do, just those specifically. We checked all the fuses we found and they all see fine. I put stock bulbs back and they turned on for 2 seconds then turn off again and didn't turn back on? I have no idea what this could be..I hear its a BCM issue? Is this correct and can only the dealership fix this? Please help!!

You have it alot worse than me. Ive upgraded to full led a while back and hit a pot hole pretty damn hard and the right side front dome light has stopped working. From what i know im being told i need to replace the dome light console assembly. I still need to go to the dealership and pay 130$ for a diagnostic check. But your really in deep water with this. I personally would recommend going to the dealership and have them figure it out. This seems quite serious and i think to prevent further damage or even a fire have them check it out. If possible can you dm me a video of the issue or we can set up a video call? Im very interested in helping you the best I can. Are you still under warranty?

did you check the fuses? could have popped one. Also, for the dome light, the connection behind them loosens over time especially if you've altered them with new lights. Mine loosened up twice after popping it open to swap out bulbs. this time I used electrical tape to hold the connector in...

I have the issue with the dome light where the right dome like wouldnt work and the dealership said mine was faulty and i ordered a new one. Currently awaiting delivery

Probably a fuse double check all the fuses. The leds for my vanity mirror shorted the wire inside the sun visor and caused the fuse to blow. I replaced the fuse 3 times and it kept blowing right away. I got a new driver sun visor and put the oem vanity lights and replaced the fuse and everything back to normal.

I have the same issue since i own the car, exact same lights you described are not working on mine either.
When it is dark i can see the exterior lights below the mirrors do light up slightly, it is so low it lights up a bit red colour and can hardly be seen.
I got as far that it is either the BCM or the TICM (Total Illumination Control Module)
I suspect the TICM more as certain lights do work, while some not and as per manual the lights that do not work are the ones controlled by the TICM, but then again the BCM need to give controls/commands to the TICM for it to do its job.
The TICM i had removed and found that some liquid spill got over it and had corroded some contacts inside, which i cleaned up but did not help but makes me wonder if that is the cause. (liquid spill must have came dripping down from the dash board through a gap between the panels i guess)
Guessing and choosing the cheapest option of replacing the TICM first with a second hand $400-500 replacement was enough for me to walk off and leave it as it is.
A replacement BCM would be even more expensive.

Can you please DM me your skype or phone number ? I really want to talk to you about this. I need help

I was quite sure i had started a topic here about it, but i did get no real big support due to the fact it is a rare story nobody came across.
QX70 09+ - Interior electronics not working

Now diving back into it i see there is some more info available on the web as a few years ago when i was looking for this.
But a new unit will set you back $600, a used one is hard to find and still is very expensive for me as it has to be shipped to the Netherlands.
Part number is 284601-CA0A, located behind the lower dash cover on the passenger side footwell. (when working there be careful with the airbag electronics)
On the attached pictures you can see mine had some corrosion etc. on 1 corner of the circuit board which i believed was the reason for it not to work.
When i looked at it, to me i was plausible some drink was spilled on the dashboard/inside glove box and that went through a gap ending up on the TICM.

If i had the option to find a $100-150 used module from a scrap car i would take my chance and try it as i am pretty sure it will be the cause.
I do remember now my doubt at the time as the steering wheel/seat "easy entry/exit" sequence also did not work which is also controlled by the BCM.
But this turned out to be the steering column sensor, different story.

Is it possible to have the dealership use the OBD2 computer to see if it its working properly or do i have to take out the TICM? Im already 300$+ into fixing one dome light.

I tried this with a local garage with a general OBD service scanner and checked the fault codes.
Thats how we found the steering column sensor was broken, but this does not tell you if the TICM is working or not.
Most likely this can only be tested by the stealer with Consult 3, who will charge an arm and a leg.

So practically im fucked both ways then? Just leave it be then? Not worth it to fix it?

I don't know where you live, but guessing US where (as far as i've seen) is a lot more availability of parts like this second hand for a decent price.
For me it is hard to find one, then shipping etc. to the Netherlands makes it very expensive so if i where you i would try to find a second hand one and try it.

Last night i checked again, when i approach the car (with the key) the lights under the mirrors light up, being a very dim light with a pale red/orange colour.
As far as i know there are LED's inside right? As from what i found was that when a LED gets a low voltage they have a red colour which makes me believe it is not getting the power it needs.
The TICM controls the brightness and timings of the lights so i guess this is an indication it is not working properly.
Maybe you can try to see if your does the same?
All other lights are normal bulbs, so these LED are the only indication there is something happening.
I will have another search here to see if i can find another TICM for a decent price.

As stated in previous posts the only issue is that one dome light that doesnt work. Nothing lights up dim or anything else. My mirror welcomr lights light up perfectly fine. All interior lighting works fine. It could be the led panel im using is shorting out the domelight but i will have the dealership investigate. If i find a good price on the TICM i will DM you the link to it. Thanks for all your help and info regarding this issue.

Sorry to thread jack, but I am having very similar issue with the interior lights. A few days ago the "room fuse" blew out twice. After changing the fuse for the 3rd time, the dome-light, and vanity lights all stopped working. Only lights that do seem to work are located on the bottom of the doors, glove-box, and trunk. To make matters even more complicated the welcome lights under the mirrors are pale red/orange color. I have gone through all the bulbs, and fuses on the drivers side, there are no blown fuses. In addition, I've checked the TICM under the hood. Unfortunately I could not get the second cover off to check the fuses located under the main cover. Which was extremely frustrating since it took me 30min to get the TICM out.... I forgot to mention that all of the interior lights are OEM, and no one has spilled any liquids on passenger side to damaged the BCM. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue here... However all of my interior lights are OEM

I managed to located a newish TICM unit today, which cost $475

After installation of the new unit: Still blowing the room fuse, seat / steering-wheel will not move forward. Map light, Vanity Mirror, Push button start light no longer turn on....SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Reinstalled the old unit + new room fuse: Seat / steering-wheel setting works again, Footwell lights turn on. Map light, Vanity Mirror, Push button start light still not turning on..

List of troubleshooting
1. Checked all the fuses on the driver side (all good)
2. Checked all the bulbs (all good)
3. Checked all wire connections to the dome light housing, which is receiving power
4. Removed the entire dome light housing assembly to be replaced with a new unit this weekend (will report back)

Help!!! I am truly baffled by this :(

Just clicking around when I spotted this thread. Holy:poop:! How often does this happen??

2009-2011 models so am I just a few months away from the same cluster...bomb?:confused::cry:

A little update for who is interested.
I managed to find a 2nd hand TICM module, came out of a 30D
When i removed the lower section of the dashboard i found lots of water/moisture.
Traced it down and seems it is coming from the A-pillar.
Could it be a leak from the sunroof drain line?
My car had been standing still the last 4 weeks and the weather has turned colder (0-10 deg C) so a lot of condensation was on the front window as well.
But looking up below the dash i can see moisture droplets up into the A-pillar.

Also the wiring and plug for the TICM were found wet, i dried everything up with compressed air and installed my 2nd hand TICM and all lighting works again.
First time i seen the interior lights on since i own the car.
Also the "start" button lights up and the exterior lights under the mirrors work!
Lucky guess it was only the TICM and not/also the BCM, but i still need to find where this water came from.

Yes, Typically there’s drainage tubes that run down the A and C pillars to keep water from pooling in the moon roof housing. Yours is either disconnected a little or just plain leaking from the description.

I’d try to find it, but it’s a complicated area, failing that, I’d try to wrap the new part in a plastic water shed, or seal the offending drain port then just rely on the other three removing the water overhead.

Good luck with it.

Thanks Bro, I've replaced the TICM Module with two other unit's and still no interior lights. Took it to the dealership for a diagnostics, after 3 day's without the car I get a call from the service tech stating that they can't figure out what's causing the shortage, and suggested that I replace the entire wiring-harness for $6700 o_O

I sure miss my 1st gen. The second gen FX has truly been a letdown. From the sluggish gear-ratio, lack of power, terrible MPG, and now this random electronic issue. Not what I expected from such a reputable company. Who know's maybe I'll just trade the car in for a Porsche Macan. So over it...
