lol. thanks. luckily, i have a ton of cool equipment at work here for doing board level repairs on electronic equipment, along with some really nice soldering stations. after working on such small components, the 3mm leds will seem gigantic in comparison. :rolleyes:
 
got some parts and such ordered. gonna have to try out a couple things to get what i am really trying to achieve here. i have an idea, but, don't know if it'll work as of yet. and i'm being very vague on purpose too, btw. =)

once i can get it set up how i hope i can, it should look pretty good. until then......
 
Dang! That looks really nice Viet!!

I checked out a G37 yesterday with an adjustable ambient light where you can control not only how bright you want the light, but you can also switch between white or blue light! and I thought that was pretty impressive...
 
not really an update i guess but....... i finally found a place where i can order the smt's in quantities under 1000 lol. only hang up now is getting into there to find out if i need the 0805's or the 0603's.
 
i did see mouser before i guess. i wasn't sure about what specs i needed on the bulbs and never actually found them again. they're alot cheaper than the other two places i found.

(still need to find out 0603 or 0805 though)

jebus!!! still no luck on the bulbs. actually, i've been busy. i may have to spend my weekend tearing apart the center console again. everything else ordered/received/waiting/etc.

guess i'm tearing the radio controls apart twice.
 
where is this guy located? someone said Tustin :confused: but i thought it was in texas. and there was a link, but it didnt work.

The guy the Rookie went with is in Texas, and I was the person that found a company our here (SoCal) that does leds also for our cars.
 
i've done plenty of google searches, and, have yet to turn anything useful up. i'm gonna try searching texas and cali places now. if you guys remember any names, please let me know. =)
 
The link that I had for the company in Tustin doesnt work anymore.......:err: They mustve folded and gone under
