Handy_Andy's Mini Meets

+1 for the awesome weather in the upper Midwest lately. It's very rare that I can drive around with the sunroof open in the middle of December. I'll take it...

Thanks for the warm welcome on my first meet and greet. WOW I got alot of insights and how to's, I can't even wrap my head around it all. Thank you again Andy for the hospitality. Need to earn my IS sticker.:smug:

Hey Paz, how did I miss your post. a belated Welcome to :iS:

Haha, no not yet. I'm going to do the oil, differentials and transfer case fluid change this weekend :smile (2):

id also do mine as well but have work all this weekend till 5 so itll prolly be too late by the time i get over there. Maybe I can catch you guys on another weekend since everyones always over there anyway lol

No install meet, just me with my newly powder coated OEM wheel with the Dunlop GrandTrack SJ5 winter tires. The weather is so crazily warm in the middle of December that I had the chance to wash my car last night after the install. I went out and took some pictures.

Actually, there was a mini swap meet. :tongue (2):

You spent all that time washing your car and now its pouring rain, lol.

Am I getting old and boring? Because I am starting to like OEM wheels the best. Paint job looks awesome and so does the car.

Nice photo editing too in that one photo, I think you know which one I'm talking about.

Hm... switch to OEM GTR wheels painted hyper silver, OEM 22's from QX56 w/ adapters or OEM 21's from FX50S?

Must stop thinking... damn you Andy.

Emblem looks great color matched
Thanks, it was the easy way out and it turn out great. Chris (FX45Chicago) had it done first. I saw the quality of the power coating and loved it.

Wait, shouldn't you make a new DIY thread on this? :wink (2):

I was thinking of coming over for an oil change tomorrow and I can take all that old oil and dump it for you too.

really wishing I didn't just blow a bunch of money on my oil change! I want to see how its done. not pressuring for a DIY would rather see it done in person at some point!

I'm very interested as well. Maybe sometime we can plan one where a bunch of guys can be present? I'm not sure if waiting for warmer weather is better or not. There is a high probability I'll be in Chicago January 28/29

:smug: Heated garage now! We can do an oil change when you're in town.

thinking mine or had another FX in mind? Just curious because I'll be due or slightly past due for one actually exactly at that time (was planning on getting an oil change at the dealer before heading to chicago). It would be interesting to see how my Infiniti dealer's Valvoline holds up after 3500 recommended mile internal oil changes.

Great DIY Andy.

awwww man, you guys are lucky, I just changed my oil in my other vehicle in the open driveway, brrrr it's cool working outside.

i wonder now... since those shots look exactly like the underside of my G.

If i was to swap a AWD FX rear diff into my AWD G, if it bolts up. Probably not worth the gearing upgrade from 3.5 to a 3.69, then again G35 guys love the 3.33~> 3.5.

Seems like some are itching for a mini meet in January. I want to re-install my coils soon. I cannot stand stock height. So maybe we can have a coil install meet soon if you guys are interested in showing up. :smile (2):
