GTSPEC Strut Tower Group Buy!

After waiting umpteen months for the GTSPEC, and having to pick it up from UPS... I get home from work, try to put it on and it's F'n bent! WTF?!?!?!:mad.:

it is a very tight fit. can;t imagine it bending as it looks and feels very tough.

Yeah, pics needed. It would take a shit ton of force to bend that thing. Was the box damaged at all?

Got mine!! Got really excited. Opened the hood, started removing bolts and have two that I cannot get out for life!! I tried all the tricks I know including blowtorch ing it and spraying some WD-40 to get it somewhat loose. Nothing I'm border lining with getting it stripped!! Anyone else had their bolts tight to the point of no go?? Any ideas what else I can try before I get the bolt cutter out!! That should not be that Effin difficult!! Bolts off, strutbar on, bolts on, done. Ahhh!

Andy, yeah I did that worked on one but the last two are pissing me off. Gonna try again in the morning gonna hit the gym and push some iron before someone gets hurt!. I just don't get it why those two are so tight on.

you using the right socket size? your stripping your bolts!

Yeah. The passenger side was tight but all came off fine, one on the driver side no problem, just those two. Yeah I know I almost stripped one, so this one might need to be cut but still, so tight on?

Make sure ur using a 6 point socket. Also at sears they have have.these sweet bolt extractors. You pound them onto the head and they will bite into the head and twist it out

I would heat it up a bit with a torch to see if it gives. If it still not, I guess splitter.

By extractors rare great but these are nuts on top of the strut tower.

That is a bent STB. No need to bend anything to clear hood. That thing looks like it been sit on by an elephant. Hey Koso, did you say that you have an extra one to available to sell on hand? Put it to a good use....customer service! :wink (2):
