GROM Audio GROM-IPD3 Aux input/Bluetooth

Yeah, ordered that and the USB one mentioned - I'll return the parts I don't need for the solution I pick.

Thanks for the help!

Grrrrr - frustrated

I received the AND2 unit today (as well as the bluetooth dongle for the original AUX). I am still having issues.

With AUX and bluetooth dongle, the music plays just fine, volume is controllable from the head unit and steering wheel, but the CAT dial (which is supposed to change category/playlist) does nothing. I don't prefer this solution as there is no text information. Additionally, the steering wheel and head unit track controls do nothing. I refuse to have to use the phone to change tracks/playlists/folders.

So that leaves me with the AND2 unit....

This also plays just fine from either the phone AUX input (no control except volume, as expected) or a USB stick. The USB stick usually displays the title and artist correctly. The issue I have is that the controls are bizarre here....

1. The volume works from head unit or steering wheel, but track forward/backward is reversed using the steering wheel control (i.e., "UP" on the steering wheel goes back, "DOWN" on the steering wheel goes forward)

2. The track forward/backward on the head unit changes folder (not track)

3. The CAT dial changes track (not folder), although it at least does it in the right direction!.

I updated to the latest firmware (gromusb2_nissan_40.hex) and renamed to gromusb2.hex as instructed, but no change.

How can I use the AND2 with correct steering wheel controls? This doesn't matter whether I am in radio preset A, B, or C, or whether I hold presets 1-6 until beep.....

Thanks,

Steve

Sure, you can use it as BT handsfree. The caller's voice will be thru car speakers.

But there is a big distinction, you switched from using the cars bluetooth receiver to the GROM's unit, and you will need to mount another mic somewhere inside the car. Some people may like this because the cars bluetooth isnt the best, others may find it a bit annoying..

I thought he asking about BT calling feature through GROM.

He is asking about that, I was just making it obvious that the BT connection is no longer through the vehicles BT module, but everything is done through the GROM receiver. There isn't much of a difference except that you have to setup your own little mic somewhere...

It took about 2.5 hours because I wanted to be careful. I ordered a set up pry tools to remove "stuff" without scratching or marring the dash. The biggest problem I had was disconnecting the cables from the deck; Also you should order a copy of the repair manual from Ebay or something $8.00. It's worth it...

Hi guys, I just bought an 04 non tech. I'm planning on getting a grom unit bluetooth hands free in the meantime. Tired of using the cassette player on my note 3 really annoying. Any suggestions on what model to buy so I can run it on sat mode. Thanks

Do you have SAT receiver originally in the car? If so, you can't connect it back onto the radio.

No I don't I was using simple radio module and I was working fine

From I remember back when I was using their earlier version and experiencing this "no sat" problem, their support had me connected the red power to constant power instead of wire is energized when the car is running. Try to tap into the clock power wire instead.

Resume play works great. I have a bluetooth app that opens and slacker radio when the car starts.

BTW I was using a direct auxiliary connection through the rear media prior to this and the volume level was much weaker compared to the grom. Grom volume is great. At least with the s4.

"Rear Media" Aux/input, like a 3.5mm?
