Grocery Getter :: 2006 Infiniti fx35 awd

thanks wayne, lots of FX owners take their sweet time to find the proper parking spot. GF hates it tho :smile (2):.

Nothing wrong with dropping her off at the front door first :-)

Deep down, I think she likes the little strolls in the parking lots with me :smile (2): (most of the time).

As I had mentioned, lots of fx owners do take their sweet time looking for that VIP spot.

FX looks great Soon! I'm jealous of your 21's :P
Thanks, I need clean/buff/polish like your fx (i'm jealous of your garage/driveway, where you can do the diy's)

I propose that Soon isn't allowed to leave the house without his DSLR anymore....
wish I can my friend, wish I can......
Ooooo Camera FIGHT!! :boxing: lol
android camera isn't all that bad, quick and easy.

Nice Pics. Great Ride!
thanks Chris, beer this friday evening?

Hey Soon did you notice any tar like smell from the sound deadening? I've heard people complain on other forums that the B-Quiet stuff has a bad tar like odor too it and it takes some time to go away.

It didn't bother me or my guests since it was installed. With the current temps, still odorless with my nose. Maybe someone else can chime in: aiya , tchuck or Turbocad?

Forgot to mention what version of Kaskade's song is that? I have the original Skylar grey version but never heard that one lol.

And did doing the doors first make the most improvement?

the Manhattan video?, I had overlayed some random snip-it. I'll have retrace the edit file, gotta be some remix. It wasn't played in the fx.

The front doors made the most impact, that's where I started.

One more question. I noticed on the rear doors there is a vapor barrier, but on the front doors there is no vapor barrier and instead there is this metal plate. I'm curious as to why you never removed the metal plate to install the sound deadening directly to the door panel instead where all the braces are at?

This is the metal panel I'm talking about:

Oh and by the way what should I use to get the deadening to lay down? lol Fingers or a roller?

whats the x brace and why must the glass be taped when you remove the x brace lol im sorry for all the questions im a noob at this

Roll is a bit cumbersome to get around and difficult to apply adequate pressure. I used a cheapo trim kit from Harbor Freight. Trim kit allowed me to pressure slide on every angle and corner. Used the tool edges to re-ensure it sticks well.

Keep in mind, u have to use some degreaser to clean all surface, then alcohol wipe it down. Only then after you should apply the deadening material.

X Brace i'm referring to is the RED circled metal u had on your illustration. Remove the black round tape and lower your window a bit to see the 10mm bolt. Carefully unscrew them and dont drop them into the door. Roll up the Windows and mask tape the Glass to be suspended, make sure it's secured before removing all the xbrace cover 10mm.

Best if you can pull up the SERVICE PDF and review it before doing the actual work.

Sorry, I didnt document the entire DIY while I was doing mine or Aiya's. The first door is always the hardest. Just double check things before removing or pulling.
