Gas Gauge Level Fix

Drive it a couple days. Was the tank full full when you did the fix? If I have to guess, I would check the pump side first since it has more wire and hose that have a higher chance of the floater arm being caught.

The tank had about 1/3 left when the gauge showed below empty. I'll check that side end of the week. Don't wanna open it when it's full.

Looks good to me if you have just filled it up.

Is yours the same? My G coupe stops right on the line.

Hello,

I have been an owner of the fx35 for a year and I am glad I found this site! My fuel gauge has been acting funny. Anybody in Orange County want to aid me on this? I'm not very handy and I would hate to screw things up. Thank you! hopefully some friendly locals can help. Thanks, William

It's very, very easy to do and if your not that "handy" just follow the steps in the DIY posted.

Hmmm, this is the first. This fix will help will the fuel gauge indication. Should not affect the MPG calculation in any ways.

LOL, at first I read 50MPG... Just FWIW, if I reset my MPG when on the freeway, I'll see steady state 23MPG for a while, at least until some urban driving gets thrown in to take it back down. If your gauge is reading correctly, I wouldn't worry. Just monitor.

I'll report back when I take it on local streets. I hate to be the first person with this problem. HA

Thanks for the help guys. I'm glad I found this forum.

Within the last 2 weeks my fuel pump died, therefore leaving my FX dead in the water. After ordering the pump, and reading this thread............All I can say is wow!!!! Thanks guys for all they input and pictures. They were very helpful!!! After a week and a half of patiently waiting, my fuel pump finally arrived. I was able to uninstall the old and install the new with ease. Cleaned the sending unit on the driver's side and now my gauge is reading accurately. Love the website guys, thank you very much!!!! :good:

guys nice DIY post! yesterday i went to the gas Station , fill my tank , and the gauge didnt show FULL.... ill do this Cleaning tip tomorrow!
bought this 45 last dec , and every issue start to happen this year! looool thank god this forum exists! thanks guys! ill do a video cleaning the pump and senser unit! :)

When I bought mine few months back it was reading below the highest marker when the car is filled up and the light would come on when the tank is still half full, I cleaned it as per this thread and when I put it together I filled it up and then noticed the needle is Sitting over the "F" instead of the marker under it showing its full.

Also when the low fuel level light is on. I fill it up with 65 litres, which mean theres still 25 litres left. thats close to 1/3 of the tank.
