Glad to see my DIY helped out. Mine gas gauge still work perfectly. So satisfying to see the gas gauge point all the way to full :wink (2):

yeah man, thanks again for an awesome DIY bro, I did a members car here with this procedure & it worked out perfect... I remember doing this back when I was a kid to clean the tracks for slot cars with a pencil eraser... been doing it ever since on contact points for many things including stuff like cell phone battery contacts, but here it just works great...

Great DYI I just found this after doing some research on my fuel gauge. I do have a question though, will this also fix the problem on why I can never fill up my tank? Every time I fill up it shuts off at around 16-17 gallons and the gauge will show below the full line? thanks for the help. Also any takers on wanting to do this repair for me for some extra cash? I live in the chicagoland/Milwaukee area

Hmm, this DIY fix exactly that....

It is not that you can never fill your tank, it's rather your gauge is display incorrect level in tank. Your gas gauge show empty while there still gas in tank; therefore, when you fill it up it can only takes 16 - 17 gallons. You may also notice that the gas gauge will not show full even when you fill the tank. Which part of Chicago are you coming from?

I live in Milwaukee area , but I grew up and have family all over Chicago (west burbs, nw burbs, and in the city its self) I see you're from Aurora that's about a 1.5 hour drive for me but it also makes a great excuse to go see family :P Also La_ I see you did the Dice media bridge are you still using that it? I'll send you a PM later so I don't derail the thread

So after a week of doing this I'm now getting a obdII code of p0461 which states fuel level sensor a ckt range/perf any ideas?

:edit:

Looks like gauge is now saying I have more gas then what's in there going to open check it out after this full tank is lower
