the balljoint adapters are needed because to use the rear akebono calipers on the fx we need to replace the whole rear knuckle with the knuckle from the fx50, but the ball joint & the hub bolts are different, my kit will allow them to just bolt up, there is no other good way of doing it & the adapters are def necessary for a safe & reliable install. pm me & I can get you a set..
far as the stoptech bolts, all the ones I've done the bolts are just slightly too long, if they are not trimmed/tip bored slightly, then the bolt will bottom in the caliper before fully seating on the 2 copper seal washers, you MAY get away with just tightening them up like that & it may compress enough to seal & be ok, but it is safer & more correct to not have this bolt bottom in the caliper at all, it should only bottom on the 2 compression washers... the akebono calipers are not really made for a banjo bolt at all, they are technically made to accept a flared line fitting, the banjo bolt will contact the inner flare part if it is not modified & is not 100% correct, I'd def recommend tip boring those bolts, but if you have it all tightened up & there fine then leave it I guess... I'd be concerned about this contact causing stress on either the threads or compressing the inner flare flange & deforming it or something, although it did look like it could just be tightened down to work, it's better if there is no internal interference at all...
