G37 / FX50 Akebono Brake Retrofit

AHhhhh very nice. I wana do the brake setup also. Good to see people determined to do it and accomplish it. Nice job.

Hi Turbo -- did you mail out any of the ball joint adapters yet? I believe you should have received my payment by now. Also didn't know if you got my e-mail.

Thanks!

turbocad6,
do you know does the FX50 brake kit fit 2009 FX35? i am very interested in upgrading my 09FX35 brakes as they are weak.

You would just have to make sure it clears the wheels. Post your wheel specs, including offset, if you know them.

It all depends on the wheel spoke & hub design. It's unrelated with the offset. Learned the hard way..

according to owner manual it says
20x8 offset= 50mm

FX50 specs are
21x9.5 offset= 50mm

I did answer his pm about this, but will repeat it here for others benifit

for an 09 fx35, you won't need my adaptor kit, I'm not even sure if you'd need the rear knuckle, maybe not... if not it's much cheaper to do, but the only way to know is to try...

if I had an 09 I'd order just the rear calipers & rotors initially, test fit & see if the knuckle is needed or not... it may or may not be... once someone tries this then we'll know for sure...

just wondering, i am a newbie, are there any reason you recommend the "rear" instead of the front?

^^^because the fronts are a easy fit (bolt on), the 09 rears may or maynot need the new knuckle part to have the rotors fit. thats why he suggested just getting the rotors first

turbo recommends the front more and the rears, but you need the rears to complete the package
