Hi Turbo, just sent you the money for the kit.

I figured I might as well try to summarize this, so please edit this as needed:

Caliper clearance required:
47.5 millimeters = 1.87007874 inches
Caliper clearance recommended:
49.5 millimeters = 1.9488189 inches

This is basically the same size as the Brembo GT 4 piston FX35/FX45 kit in terms of clearance.

Modifications: Need to shorten brake line bolts by reaming the tip with a drill bit.

Question:
1) Do both the front and rear brake lines need to have the brake line bolts shortened?
2) If we do decide to purchase stainless steel lines, the Stoptech FX35/FX45 stainless steel brake lines front and rear are the correct to buy? (I can't tell from the part number)
3) Any reason to purchase the rear plate assembly? It's a dust shield? Any other purpose where cutting or removing the old one would be harmful for the car?

Turbo, if you could modify this list as you said some of the Pins/Clips might need updating:

Front Kit:
1 INF D1060-JL00B / Pad Kit-Disc Brake
1 INF D1080-JL00A / Disc Brake kit – can get aftermarket instead of these, I believe any G37S or FX50S rotor will fit
2 INF 40206-JL00A / Rotor Disc Brake Front
1 INF 41001-JL00A / Caliper Assy-Front Right
1 INF 41011-JL00A / Caliper Assy-Front Left
4 INF 41217-JL00A / Pin
4 INF 41218-JL00A / Clip
1 9504200 / Stop-tech SS Front Brake lines
Total Cost: $1,168.66 - $264.63 Discount + $45.97 shipping = $950.00
*discount that Turbo got

Rear Kit:
2 Turbocad's 2 Ball joint adapters
8 Turbocad's bolts
8 Turbocad's washers
1 95042500 / Stop-tech SS Rear Brake lines
1 INF D4060-JL00A / Pad Kit-Disc BR
1 INF D4080-JL00A / Hardware Kit
2 INF 40262-EG010 / Nut-Knuckle Spindle
2 INF 41218-JL00A / Clip
1 INF 43019-1CA0A / Housing-Rear Axle, RH
1 INF 43019-1CA0A / Housing-Rear Axle, LH
2 INF 43206-JL00A / Rotor Brake – can get aftermarket instead of these, what fits? G37S and FX50S rotors?
1 INF 44001-JL00A / A Caliper RH 99
1 INF 44011-JL00A / Brake-Rear LH
1 INF 44020-1CA6A / Plate Assy-Back, Rear – I think these are not required if you want to trim your old ones
1 INF 44030-1CA6A / Plate Assy-Back, Rear – I think these are not required if you want to trim your old ones
2 INF 44217-JL00A / Pin
Total Cost: $1,964.52 - $479.81 Discount + $55.30 shipping = $1,540.00
*discount that Turbo got

Bump for if anyone know if this is the correct list of parts.

thanks for putting that list up chedman, I'll correct it in a bit, forgot to do it... & yeah, fronts are ~900 range, best bang for he buck out there & a no brainer... the rears cost way more & give less improvement than the fronts, but they really do complete the look & overall package... if your only concerned about performance & don't care so much about the complete look then fronts alone are good enough I guess, but the whole package is really sweet, especially with aftermarket open design wheels... this is not to say the rears don't help, they do, but the fronts are like 75% of the improvement by themselves

& dave, NICE man, good to see you got your priorities straight...

I have order the Front Kit and Turbo will be install the kit for me next week. I hope he had the time . I will post pictures once I receive the package. and some before and after impression after installation. hey turbo, did you receive the PM I sent you?

Hmm, once my front brakes are worn, I'm tempted to look into the front kit. I assume it would be pretty cost effective, and would make it cost that much less after taking out the price of new front rotors and/or pads.

ok, I corrected most of this, still need to see what those bolts are in the rear setup & I took the total prices out cause they need to be corrected for these changes... what you had listed as my discount was not really my discount, i was the standard discount that infinitipartsusa extends to all there internet sales, need to add each line item price & then a total...

(I don't kmow where this info is from, but I'll trust that you researched this so it's included in this summary)

Modifications: Need to shorten brake line bolts by reaming the tip with a drill bit.

(this is applicable to the shorter stop tech bolts that are included with the stop tech lines. if the stock lines & bolts are used then the bolt needs to be shortened more than just reaming the tip with a drill bit, the bolts will need to be cut approx 1/4")

Question:
1) Do both the front and rear brake lines need to have the brake line bolts shortened?

answer, yes, both front & rear share the same bolt issue. the stock akebono calipers are set up to accept a flared hard line, not a banjo bolt, althought the threads are the same & the boss is flat making them acceptable for banjo bolt mounting, the depth needs to be accounted for. forcing a bolt that is too long can cause fluid restrictions, leaks or stripped threads... always make sure the banjo bolt can tighten all the way to touching both washers completely flat without bottoming of the bolt on the inner cone, don't force the bolt to tighten if your not sure it's clear to do so

2) If we do decide to purchase stainless steel lines, the Stoptech FX35/FX45 stainless steel brake lines front and rear are the correct to buy? (I can't tell from the part number)

answer, yes, the brake swap is using the stock style 03-08 fx brake lines, so the stock replacement stop tech lines are the correct ones to use

3) Any reason to purchase the rear plate assembly? It's a dust shield? Any other purpose where cutting or removing the old one would be harmful for the car?

answer, the rear backing plate is a shield, it serves a few purposes I guess, one of which is a rear splash shield, when going through a large body of standing water a big blast of sudden water on the inner brake surface of a very hot rotor may cause warpage, assuming it's not raining at the time & both inner & outer are not wet anyway, but just cutting the outer edge off is no problem really... keep in mind that not all cars even have shields like this, I wouldn't consider it a must have at all, actually removing more of the shield & cutting it down to minimum, just to the ebrake assembly can be an improvement in cooling & I'm sure many will remove this as a performance upgrade even... the rotora bbk rear upgrade does not include a new backing plate & they recommend removing the bulk of the extra material there, so no, the backing plate is not necissary at all, it does make for the cleanest most factory like install though & makes installation a bit easier direct bolt on with no trimming involved...

Turbo – I added where I got the clearance info from, it's for the G37S brake caliper clearance, which I believe is the same as the FX50S caliper. I also added what I know of the line item price

http://www.conceptzperformance.com/images/czp/barge/czpg37frontbrakeoutline.pdf

* Almost complete, Turbo is checking what the bolts are in the rear setup

Turbo, if you can also add estimate for hours of install that would help greatly! Also, any chance you're offering to shorten stoptech line bolts if we pay you for labor and for shipping back to us? I'd rather have someone do it who knows what they are doing on something critical as a brake kit even if it means paying for labor and shipping back.

This is for a G37S/FX50S 4 Piston OEM Akebono Front Brake kit and FX50S 2 Piston OEM Akebono Rear Brake Kit with the front rotor being 14" and the rear being just shy of 14".

Therefore, OEM quality big brake kit for under $2,500 for all four corners. This also means you have a large range of possible brake pads and rotors in the future by aftermarket companies.

Big thanks to Turbocad who made this all possible.

my database does not list those 2 nuts, gonna call Joe a little later... if those are the caliper mounting bolts then I think there are 4 necessary, I'll sort out this last detail & then get this final list posted in the first post in this thread or sticky it where it will be easy for all to find... thanks for your help chedman13, I really appreciate it

just read through this entire thread...thanks turbocad for all the work done.

i have a bone stock 04 fx45 and the braking feels as crummy as my 93 accord that hasn't been serviced in 5yrs.

i'm running on '04 stock 20's....for this oem fx50s bbk kit to work, i need spacers correct? any recommendations of which spacers to get and where to order from? also wat are the ill effects of running front wheels w/ spacers and back wheels w/out them...is that a big no no?

maybe putting a sticky of that list chedman made in the top post would help those who didn't follow this thread from its origins 1/yr ago...also be nice if that sticky had a real-time count of how many sets of rear adaptor kits turbocad has left, that'll encourage people to grab em while they can since these won't ever be made again.

You need 15 mm spacers in the front. You can test 10 mm if you take your wheel off, then cut out this template with 10 mm more where the "rotor face in contact with wheel" to account for a 10 mm spacer, then see if it clears your wheel spoke with 2 mm of clearance. Or you can just be safe and get 15 mm.
http://www.conceptzperformance.com/images/czp/barge/czpg37frontbrakeoutline.pdf

I have a fan of H&R, so I would purchase these. They are top quality:
http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=4182
3065662INFINITI FX4515mmDRS66.25/114.312x1.25 $107.95
Please note to only buy DRS as these replace your OEM bolts with longer ones. This is the safest way to go.

You are fine running front spacers with no rear spacers. If you want the same exact look, go for 15 mm front and 15 mm rear. But measure out 15 mm, and see if that makes a difference to you. It would bother some, others not so much.

I was looking at turbos pdf of his counter ticket from joe and his list included 4 clips (p/n 41218-JL00A )
do we still need to order these for the fronts?

no, those are the clips that hold the pins, but they are included with the pad set as replacements anyway, along with high heat anti squeal grease packet...

I left a msg for joe, he had his guy follow up with me but he left me a voice mail... I gotta follow up with him again for an answer bout those nuts...

if we could source a vendor for oem quality shortened brake line bolts that would be great also. i agree w/ chedman, i am not mechanically inclined enough to attempt shortening bolts myself for fear of screwing up. i think the closer we get to 100% plugNplay compatibility w/out modding bits and pieces here and there, the more people will jump on this awesome oem retrofit.

the mod of the bolt should be pretty straight forward. if you cant do that, then you will have a hard time installing the brakes.
just get the stoptech SS brake line and use a drill bit to flare the end... done.

First of all, I really need to thank Turbocad6 for hooking me up with the complete installation of the FX50 brakes and H&R springs/KYB shocks. I also had a chance to test his new modify struts setup with his FX (Its freaking unbelievable). Anyway, everything went really well except a little problem with the SS lines (they sent me the 350z version). Here are some pictures I took. I will post some feedback in a week of this setup.
