FX4BR

Thanks guys!

That looks real good. How many coats did you put and how long it take u?

Thank you :) I did four coats of spray paint, and 2/3 coats of clear coat. It took 3 hours for me to take everything apart (cuz I was very careful), 3 hours to paint and clear coat (start to finish), and then another hour to reinstall everything (easier cuz I knew what I was doing).

Lookin' good! Are you seriously getting 14.8 mpg in 35? :eek.:

I guess so lol. It's always in the 14's. I'm pretty aggressive with the gas pedal.

Spent 4 hours cleaning the FX today. Completely polished the outside, and deep-cleaned the inside for the first time since my purchase. Very happy. Looks like a brand new FX :) Here are a couple pics I snapped after installing the GTSPEC strut tower bar:

She cleans up REAL nice! You're going to love the added stability from that STB!

:top:

Would love to see this FX in person. Next time I'm in SD to see my best friend I will keep my eye out.

Very nice pics... Looks like a crazy bright day, almost too bright for the paint.. Maybe a filter would help you.

Oh, you cleaned the car and forgot the tires :mad.:

Yeah, sun was a-shinin'! I could fix it in Bridge, but I'm exhausted lol. And I know I forgot the tires -_- I spent so much time on everything else that I completely forgot. I even had the tire product pulled out and clearly didn't even use it.

Might help to cut some of the glare from the paint.. Also, be mindful of your focus settings; on some of the distance shots the flowers behind the car are in focus while the car was a little blurry.. You can always use spot focus on the car and then move the view to frame your shot, all while depressing halfway on the shutter.. Just a novice so take that with a grain of salt. :wink (2):

Nice collection! What firmware version are you running in the D700? After I updated mine the WB algorithm was MUCH improved.

I need to update mine :/

I've only been taking RAW, artistic(ish) photos now for a little over a year, but not very often. I'm still learning

I have a few books I need to read. Nice composition comes naturally to me, and I'm pretty good with most of the settings on the D700... but there is still so much more to educate myself on. I need to learn about filters... that's one thing I have yet to conquer. But I'm only 23, and I feel like I've come pretty far :smug:

My photos are always in focus... not quite sure what happened. And thank you :)

Spent 4 hours clay barring the FX today. It is suuuuuper shiny. Here are a couple iPhone pics. They don't show the gloss the paint really has. Oh, and I didn't forget to clean/coat the tires this time!

Oh... and I took two of the three logos off of my back triangle windows. It was too busy for my taste.

Nice, you left the most important decal on your car. :wink (2):

If you don't plan on doing an exhaust anytime soon, ever think about getting just tips? I welded just Invida tips on and it made a huge difference just in looks until I get a full system. It really fills out the bumper more.

Thanks. I don't plan on getting an exhaust system unless I can find one with a very low, mean growl. Do not want it to sound whimpy. I don't want a crazy drone either though, as I get migraines easily. I like your suggestion about the tips, that's a great idea. I do want it to be filled out more. I'm wondering if it's possible to make the pipes black or IP. I don't want anything to be outside of the dual color scheme I've got going.
