For those with bubbling dash. Coverlay dash cover

Contemplating what to do with my stupid freaking dash. Cracks but no bubbles. Who else done what? Fork over the pics of your "dash fix", whatever it may be.

I like the leather (?) wrapped dash. The coverlay doesn't look too shabby either. Ease and low price vs better looks, high price and potential damage done while some guy is removing the dash.

Leatherworldtech is the company I got the supplies to correct my seats from and they have what's needed to paint plastic with a perfect match and make it uv resistant.

I have the Coverlay and am happy with it.
That leather wrap looks nice, but also looks like a biatch of an installation. ?? looks cool

Thanks for the feedback. I blew up the pics from the OP on page 1 and it looks like it fits and covers perfectly. It looks like the air bag "patch" needs special care taken so that it's flush around the edges as the OP's and not Coverlay's youtube vid.:confused::eek::rofl:
If I go this route, I'll do a little diy on it and painting it to match.

Be aware they might not sell that airbag door/patch version. The one I got has a net-style material covering the airbag hole. That part does look rather crappy and definitely the greatest eyesore and downfall. Nobody wants to be held accountable for the airbag.
Personally, I would not want to paint one for fear of the paint cracking, chipping, and flaking. The plastic itself needs to be twisted up pretty good when installed. I thought there were a bunch of colors to choose from, like 8 or 20 or something? I wanted simple black. The natural color and sheen are fine.

Do you have the Accuform cover? Unless Coverlay changed there design, I'm pretty sure it's a solid piece.
There's a mix they sell to add to the paint which supposedly allows for flex as well as uv protection.

Any updates on the Coverlay part for the 2003-2005 models?
Anyone have install pics?
Does it have a hole for the airbag or at least some sort of perforation on the back side?
Has anyone ordered one of these in the last 6 months?

I've tried a few of the carpet covers, and found one that fit relatively well. But, it's 3 years old now and needs replaced...

I wrote above "I'm pretty sure it's a solid piece" but what I meant to write was that it's not the "net style" airt bag cover as mentioned above which I believe is an Accuform phenomenon only. The Coverlay is as it appears on the vid I posted above.

What color of the Coverlay dash cover are you guys using for black interiors?

I'm wondering if the black dash cover would be too dark to match well...

I've been preoccupied but if I don't get the dash wrapped then I'll buy the "Taupe Grey" color, as it looks like a pretty damn good match for the willow/stone interior, but I'll have the proper paint and what's needed in order to get a match.
If your interior is black, go with black but if not, it might look odd unless you tie the rest of the dash & tops of the doors together.

Stopped at my local Autozone today and noticed an FX35 with the same silver paint scheme as mine sitting there. As I walked past admiring it I noticed the dash was covered in a bazillion bubbles. It was the weirdest thing I've seen on a car.

My dash is pristine. Not sure if an over-lay panel has been installed. It looks stock.
