Faded Window Trim Repair

I have some fading on my window trim as well. Anyone tried wrapping with 3m film or Dinoc? Looking for advice or tutorial to cover up the fading and cracks.

It's been wrapped, painted, polished, and replaced by different members here. It all depends on how much work you want to put in, how much money you want to spend, or how you want it to look in the end.

Good luck and let us know what you decide to go with. :good:

Wrapping is the easiest option after polishing. I polished the lower portion because they were only lightly faded. The uppers I wrapped in 3M vinyl because polishing didn't take it all out. It's a pretty easy fix.

Thanks, I'll see if I can get the nerve up to try wrapping the trim... Looks like a lot of work, but could be a fun weekend project...

Bondo stuff doesn't work well on window trim. Been there, tried that. You're just sort of making it blacker, but it doesn't do anything for the fading.

My windshield trim has a small section where the clear started to peel. I'm about to wrap that in 3M as well.

Hey zebra555
Yours looks great. Do u have to take the trim off to wrap. Can u post up where u got the 3m 1080 at and maybe the steps u took. A few pages back is my ride with crappy looking trim :(

I removed the lower trim(broke all clips of course). I wrapped the upper one without removing.

I am going to find this Bondo product but there are a lot of companies that do the same
I tried the bondo and I wouldn't recommend it after seeing how it held up. Got spotty looking after a while. Either paint or vinyl wrap seems like the best way to go.I think I am going to try the vinyl wrap next.
