exhaust options

I have not heard a FX45 with the stillen exhaust personally or even a sound clip so I can't be of any help there. As for performance, I would believe that no affect (good or bad) on low end torque would be noted but problably gains at the top would be relaized. Have not seen a dyno of the stillen on the 45 so no data there also.

The only "negative" I've heard on the Stillen is that there are no flex joints. I could be totally wrong but I think someone mentioned the muffler and sound being similar to that of a magnaflow. NiK_0 from Russia just got the Stillen, you might want to hit him up for a sound clip.

My take is if want more "high-tech" go with HKS or Nismo. If you want more V8 muscle, Stillen is probably the way to go. Or you could be the first to try this out:

I currently have in my possesion a Stillen Exhaust that I will be installing on my FX this weekend. I will post some sound and video clips when I get a chance...

I believe Stillen uses an X pipe, . . not a Y
 
See all this info was a big help... I listen to both the Nismo and HKS on youtube and went with the HKS. Nismo sounds incredible, and I can't take anything away from that. But so did the HKS on the fx35, I could only wonder what it would sound like on the 45. The tips, price and everyones input made me go for it... Also the LMS air intake is on it's way (I did get the last one in black). Now I'm shopping for shoes...

20"'s or 22"?

Nice, another FX45 with HKS exhaust. Yes, it's deeper and growls more with the v8. I'm very happy with it=) Did you get the mid-pipe and rear section or only the rear-section?
 
Chedman, did you ever post a sound clip of your HKS setup?

I will do so once I get something to record it. My camera unfortunately doesn't do movies/sound clips. I'll keep you guys/gals (do we have any females on the forum?) posted.

I, almost, didn't order mine, cuz I really wanted a polished one... and was going to wait... but the guy on the phone was like "...I don't know when we'll get more in... we may not even get any 03s for awhile..."

I opted not to get this mod. I suggest you do the research and speck to someone on the SCENE who can tell you their experiences with this mod.

Results may vary with the acutal type of Set up you might have with your 45 and what direction you might want to take.

There is no hidding the fact that I admired what Dr2K has done with his 45 and am intrested in going in the same direction he has with his FX.

What I understand is that he had an experience where his car was running a bit to lean due to the combination of Mods that he has with his FX with the LMS Intake.

So, I opted not to get the Mod.
 
FYI - I just got off the phone with HKS rep. They confirmed the mid-pipe does fit the FX45 and that most people do not get it due to the fact it pushes the sound level past the 95 decibel legal limit. That was motivation enough for me to order it=)
